Someone popular sent a bunch of people there?

Santa made it mandatory for Elf Labor newbs to read before starting their summer spurt of toy creation?

Sonic the hedge hog installed an IP switcher and got stuck on your page?

I have no Idea. Most likely someone bookmarked it and they are popular so others will stumble through and check it out as well

Well, now that number jumped from 160 in five minutes to 10,700 over my night.  I am a little concerned as this is abnormal I think.  Well, as long as they are looking and clicking I can deal with it.  All the comments so far have different IP's so I don't know.

Its now at 15000 in about 24 hours.  I am excited.  I didn't know handshaking would be so attractive.  I expected it to be a fluke, but I am enjoying this one.

Someone else (the squirrel in the hat) had a similar situation a few weeks ago.  They figured out that their article was one of the featured links on Yahoo's home page.

congratulations and enjoy the earnings (although I'm assuming handshakes isn't exactly the highest paying niche =P )

just imagine if you had written that hub on finance and gotten 15k impressions on 24 hours lol =P

good luck in the future and I hope for your sake you can keep averaging this high level of impressions day in and day out.

edit: I'm confused ... the term "hand shake etiquette" received 51 searches last month on google and pays 5 cents per click.

    Netperkingposted 14 years ago

I am not an expert but I think the traffic is actually due to the tags for the names of the types of handshakes which have dual meanings. Those terms are highly searched terms so its great traffic!
    Good Job!

If you have Google Analytics installed it will tell you where it's coming from under the Traffic tab.  If it's search traffic it will show up under search engines, but if it's somewhere else it will show up under Referring Sites.  If you click on the Referring Sites tab and them click on the site that shows all the traffic, it should show you the referring URL.

I hope we get an update on how that traffic is keeping up or if it was a freak thing that has stopped as soon as you are back on ! =P

Do you remember NES, super mario bros when you had a difficult time doing something then all of a sudden you got past the hard part.  After that happens you try to remember what you did.  That is what this is like.
