For those of you who create channels for each hub, have you noticed a trend with layout?
If so, that's the best hub layout that you've noticed with your hubs that gets you the most clicks.
I've noticed one hubber that has what seems to be a great layout for the placement of the google ads, but I'm curious if you guys have noticed any particular layout works best for you, especially for hubs with more detail, pictures, videos, and other capsules.
Whitney, I have also been curious about this.
Unfortunately, I am way too disorganized to give any valuable information. I have no method to my Hubpages madness. But if I was aware of a particular layout being more effective, I would definitely use it.
Anybody?
My best layout for response seems to be that resembling a two-column newspaper article. Not too smashed together, not too spread out.
Best wishes!
Patty
My paper roses hub makes the most money and I have lots of pics, however, I wonder if I would make more if I didn't have so many, ads would fill the space instead right? I do have lots of traffic also to that one about 1000% more than all my others. mmmm.....
I haven't gathered any empirical evidence to support this, but I suspect any layout that has 2 adsense ads fairly high on the page will perform better than one that doesn't. Visually, I like the layouts that have a moderately long text capsule at the top with 1 image floated to the right in it. Typically, this layout will result in a half width ad underneath the image and a full width banner after the end of the text -- meaning that there are 3 ads near the top of the hub (above or at least close to the fold).
Paul, something like what Isabella had done with her latest hubs? (She was the hubber I was referring to)
I hope it's ok, Isabella, but hubs with layouts like THIS is what I curious about. Is this what you meant by above the fold? Or more like this, which is one of my hubs with 2 ads at the top and one towards the middle-bottom.
I think both of those layouts look pretty good. I can't really say for sure which will perform better (at least not right now). It's important to remember that there are many factors beyond the layout that will affect the performance of ads that we don't have much control over (and that definitely are not constant). For instance, the quantity and quality of the ad inventory available for the subject of the hub, how well the ads match the content, the quality of the traffic, the state of the global economy, and a bevy of other things that we can only guess at that are factored into the AdSense black box algorithm.
I have a lot of Hubs that start out that way and it seems to engage the visitor with both a written introduction and a visual.
Paul, I'm just curious if a particular layout will not necessarily promote clicks, but make the links more visible, I guess. I understand that there are more elements that factor in clicks and whatnot; I'm just curious if there's a particular layout that may make ads more visible.
It would be nice if we had the option of an Adsense capsule. That way, we could position a block of ads and arrange the other capsules around it - for example, between a photo capsule and an Amazon capsule floated in the first text capsule.
I agree, I like the idea in theory, if you trusted everyone to use this feature correctly.
My concern would be some hubbers posting nothing but hubs with adsense capsules and bogus content to match. There are a lot of these webpages out there, a hub would just be a cheaper way of doing that.
Yes I agree with Jenny, it does seem strange that the adsense ads are the only thing over which we don't have control.
Wow, this thread has really gathered steam.
Thanks, everybody for the suggestions. Now I need to go mull it all over. And thanks, Whitney, for starting the thread- lots of helpful information here!
Peter, I suspect that is exactly why we don't have control over Adsense placement. Sad that the majority have to be punished because of the greedy minority.

I have one hub that gets great traffic, my best one by far, but doesn't make me much money really and would like advice on how to improve it. Its getting 15k views per month. There is really nothing that could be done to improve its search engine rankings as its at the top. At least for its...

A couple days back I was following a thread (Link Here) where SunSeven was talking about a hub that was taken down because the ads "started showing Google Public Interest" ads.Nelle Hoxie made a comment about how that stuff is bad and can cost you your adsense account. ...

I got into an interesting discussion on another thread, and thought it would make a good thread itself. The question of the day is how do you feel about other hubbers clicking on an ad in your hubs?Personally I really don't see a problem with it as long as the ad interests them from a good quality...

Hi all!I have being doing hubs for over one year now and I developed a layout for my hubs which I feel confortable about, altough I'm not quite sure it's the best to maximize my adsense profits.I tend to write a lot of text - splitting it in several text capsules, I use several images (but I always...

I am still getting full-width Google ads in the middle of my pages, messing up the layout. The impact of this is that it looks like the Hub is only a few paragraphs long, and readers are unlikely to scroll down far enough to find the full-width ad and the text below it.This can't be good for Adsense...
