What words/phrases are slangs where you live and how do you use them?

    Example: London

    A) Legless means Drunk

       (He is Legless)

    B) Thick means stupid

       (She is so thick)

    Any Slangs?

heh, never heard that one...I have, however, heard "a goose just walked over your grave", which I say all the time when I get chills, you know, goosebumps suddenly? my mom used to say it and then we kids started saying it too. then I would think about where I would be buried someday on some green spot of land and at that moment some goose was walking right on that very spot!

Here's a classic piece of slang originating right here in the Bay Area:

hella (adj or adv) - very or very much
example: Maddie!  Ban him!  He's hella spamming the forums.

Another useful piece of slang for forum flagging:

outta pocket - out of control, crazy, not cool
example: That's outta pocket!  No personal attacks!

I'm in Michigan now, but I lived most of my life in Kentucky so I'm a Southerner and this definitely a Southern thing....

"Bless Your Heart" which can mean lots of things. Here's a few:

Empathy - Her boyfriend just dumped her, bless her heart!

Sympathy - I'm so sorry you just burned your fried chicken.  Bless your heart.

To water down something you've said that is really mean - She has gotten so fat since high school, bless her heart!

There are loads of other uses for this handy little phrase.  And I've used 'em all.  Bless my heart!

    Paula

I'm sorry...but, being down here in Texas...I never heard that one before...it is hil-ar-ious! I think if I heard that one before the heads-up from you (especially in Boston accented-ness)...I would have fell out on the floor...dying of laughter. Now if I hear that saying has spread to Texas - with Boston accent - I'll know who's spreading it.

The tamer version is wicked good. Such as the t-shirt I saw today  - wicked good pats fan.

And the term wicked is everywhere in the boston area. no one really knows how it got started either.
