   I get a lot of traffic from the Search Engines and I see a lot of people asking how do I get listed in the search engines. The answer to that is simple I tell them. Yes I know the myth that you should let the search engines find you but I never have. One of my favorite sayings is " If you build it they will come " but guess what you have to let them know you exist in order to get found.

   Let me give you a real good tip here. Never buy a search engine submission service. Not ever. You know the ads for $29.95 we will submit your site to 33.345 search engines and directories. You know when you fall for this basically all your going to do is lose your $29.95 or what ever it is they are charging. It preys on two things. People are lazy and they want instant success. Its not going to happen folks. You would be a lot better off to take that $29.95 and buy 3 expired domains with traffic and redirect that traffic onto your Hub Pages thru domain forwarding

   Some words of caution.
   
   There are a lot of search engine myths circulating around the web and it really surprises me some of the stuff that gets started and before long people will be claiming it is the absolute truth. If your researching SEO and you should if your serious about making money as a webmaster just be careful what you believe and what you don't. Your best friend is Google and you can find out almost anything with just a few clicks. And I guarantee you that you will be happy you did. Go to long established sites like Digital Point or Netpond and read read read and ask questions. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
   
   Bottom line you can use the links and resources above to get your Hub Pages or sites listed all over the net and if you use them all you will see your traffic increase daily and remember content may well be king but you need that traffic to make it all come together and happen.

   Buying And Using Expired Domains For Traffic
   
   Thought I would add a few words here on buying expired domains and using the traffic that a lot of these have.
   
   You can use Google to find expired domains and you want to do a little research to see what kind of traffic and back links the expired domain has. If you  really dig you can find some real jewels. Like for instance last night I was able to pick up a bunch with traffic. One I will share with you is
   
   http://jacknabbit.com/
   
   You can see where I have it set to go to now.
   
   I bought it at Go Daddy for $10.19 which is a bargain in its self for a site like this one. If you search Google and Yahoo for it you will see it is a virtual traffic machine because of all the links out there to it. Also search for jacknabbit.com/
   
   I buy these thru Go Daddy so I can use the domain forwarding to send the traffic on these expired domains where I want to. If you want it to go some where else you can easily change it in domain forwarding.
   
   Over time just by buying one or two at a time you can build up quite a collection and harvest quite a large amount of traffic. They do pay for their self.

   I've bought a few and used them to build sites on. They weren't sites with any traffic, but they had some domain aging and backlinks and I definitely noticed a difference in how quickly they were spidered, gathered pagerank, etc.

         This is an interesting concept. I know I have typed URLs in wrong and have been sent to other sites or click on sites in search engines and get a site that has nothing but Google ads or junk.
         
         I did a quick search for deleted domains that may pertain to my current site. How do you know the traffic and backlinks of the domain in order to pick the better ones?

            You want the domains with the most back links and if you can find ones in the Yahoo Directory then it is so much better. Find the ones with the most back links and you will be so much better off and you will get regular traffic.

      and search it out.

   Presumably the expired domains should originally have something in common with where you want to forward them to? Because there are few things more irritating than doing a search, selecting the site you want to visit and being wanged off somewhere else altogether.

      You sure could. And a lot of major online companies buy up used expired domains and send all the traffic to their site or sites. I buy them almost every day and I pretty much send them every where.

      There is a great article Google has done on it.
      
      Or you can use the below example in the search box at Google , Yahoo , or MSN
      
      link:http://www.example.com
      
      Just replace the example link with your own link.
      
      Always with a older domain check also to see if its in the Yahoo Directory. If it is you hit the traffic jack pot usually.

   I don't see any ads on your hum. How is it benificial to send traffic to that specific hub?

    That's a good tip about submitting the feed url's to MyYahoo and GoogleBlogSearch.  I just did that now.  Not just my profile's feed, but also the feeds for the tags I use most often.

    You're probably aware of this, but I don't think the way you (or GoDaddy) does domain forwarding using frames is going to pass on any page rank from the old incoming links to the domain.  It also makes for a potentially confusing experience for users, since the address bar will say "http://jacknabbit.com" perpetually no matter where the user navigates to after landing on your hub.  I think you (or at least the visitors to your domain) would be better off if you did a 301 (moved permanently) or 302 (moved temporarily) redirect using an HTTP header.

    Over 10.000 unique visitors to that one hub along in under 30 days and anyone else can do the same thing.
    
    The Hub page in question was started on 3 , 28 , 08 which is less than 30 days ago. I did black out some of my traffic sources as I do want to keep them private.

       It is a celebrity hub but I can do it on any hub. I will create one for this purpose oh wait. Shoeless Joe Jackson. Or any of my Ghost Hubs.
       
       You can push traffic to any hub if you use on topic marketing tactics.
       
       Celebrities and the key words related to it are the most searched for search terms on the net. It would make sense to build hubs for the most searched for terms.

    Sure, celebrities are pretty popular search terms, but the "celebrity gossip" and "celebrity pictures" categories are chock full of content already.  I guess I'm just not hip to the idea of competing with millions of other sites for the attention of unique hits.  Maybe that's my problem.

       No you probably really like what your doing and I like celebrities. It all goes back to do what you like. I have traffic on my own sites which I push onto my celebrity pages and it works well. But I will be doing some more UFO , Ghosts and paranormal stuff this summer as I pursue on my own and with video cameras ghosts and ufos. I also want to do more with social justice and am thinking of doing a hub with real letters from death row, Just some other ideals I have.

    I'm very new and I've been trying out lots of topics including celebrities. So far I've gotten the most traffic to a hub about taxes. Probably because of the time of year
    I'm beginning to think that celebrities are not going to be any easier than other topics

    I have another question. Why send all of that traffic to a hub when they take 40% of your impressions?

    Traffic is one thing - but hows the revenue - I find a huge disconnect  -particularly within internal hubpages traffic - they don't make me any $ (though I love them anyway! )

    crazyhorsesghost, apologies if this is not the place, but I was wondering - what is the copyright situation with hubs full of celebrity pictures? I mean, unless you're a very active photographer with a heck of a lot of psuedonyms, you didn't take a single one of those pictures, and I didn't see that you credited the photographers anywhere either. Is it considered commentary or a "review" and therefore fair use, or do you go in assuming that the earning potential outweighs the risk of a potential cease-and-desist letter?
