For those we lost in 9/11,
For those whose Angels are now in heaven,
My heart goes out to you at this time,
As if you were a close friend of mine.

May the peace of God rule your heart,
Remember in spirit you are not apart,
    Continue keeping their memory alive,
and living will not be a strife.

May we never see such a day again,
May we never go through so much pain,
May we all learn to live together in love,
Be it Allah or God we serve above.

So my friend, wipe away that tear,
Think of the good memories and share,
Even though they are in heaven above,
They look down on you everyday with much love.

    Is that your poem Lady_E?

What a lovely thread, and may those that lost their lives rest in peace.

Hard to believe it is 8 years already. Our world certainly has changed since then.

People from over 90 countries will grieve for their lost friends and family tomorrow.

beautiful poem and thoughts, thank you for starting this thread~~~

    here is my tribute~

memories are our mirror as we together
remember how life is but a fleeting moment
in the eternity that is promised us
as the heavens wrap their loving arms around you.

love and peace to each family~~

Hey all, this one hits a little too close to home for me. I knew a bunch of folks that died that day, and actually was headed into the City for a meeting when it happened.

Not sure when the wounds will heal, but they certainly haven't quite yet.

Sending big hugs to you, friend.

It was an awful day for me twice. It's also the day my divorce was final.

And oddly, the day after (this Saturday the 12th) my only daughter gets married.

I suppose we do rise from the ashes, but it's so individually different for all of us.

Sending kind thoughts and hugs to anyone who suffered personal loss that horrible, horrible day.

      BTW, lovely poem Lady_E.

Beautiful sentiments expressed in your poem, Lady_E.

The people lost that day are remembered today, and will always be remembered, even by those of us who did not personally know any of the victims.  (My little niece's friend lost her father that day.  One other man from our town was lost as well.)

As a way of trying to contribute to this tribute thread, I thought the following video seemed appropriate:    (It does NOT contain images from September 11, 2001.)

Thanks Lady E for the wonderful poem. And thanks friends for all of your thoughts. I'm going to take a quick ride into the City today back to Ground Zero as I do every year. Will say a prayer from all of us.
