One of the most commonly cooked meals in our household is stir fry, sometimes we use a packaged sauce, but I like to experiment with flavours and such when I cook them.

A particular favourite is a simple marinade made with half a lime, a chopped chilli, a drizzle of honey and some light soy sauce - goes delicious with king prawns, mange tout and noodles.

My personal favourite is something that I haven't tried cooking yet - shredded chilli beef - but when I go to the US I plump for General Tso's Chicken, a dish I can't seem to find over here

With regards to Chinese/Thai/Oriental foodstuffs, what's your favourite? Be it simple stir fry sauces or complex curries

My favourites are special fried rice, spare ribs. I used to like Dumplings but then I watched a Chinese film weeks ago about the secret of a 60 year old chinese woman looking very, very young to keep her hubby. They cooked parts of embryo's in dumplings for her to eat, which she paid a lot of money for and I swore I was never having dumplings again - even though it was just a film.

Sorry people. I can imagine the looks on your faces smile

We have a strong liking to indo-chinese food, it is our customization to the chinese cuisine. We add red chillies and pepper for that strong effect. My favorite is stir fy chilli chicken i have written a hub on it as well
http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-make-Chilli-chicken. Stir fry vegiies with brocoli is yummy too.

I like a lot of Chinese dishes but I'm not big on tangy spices.  I like things like sweet and sour pork and beff with snow peas.

I love oriental cooking, Chinese, Japanese and Thai, all of them.  I really like Indian food also, great little place in Denver, CO, called Yak & Yeti's, ya got to go there if ever in the area.  Always trying something new.  Like spicy sauces.  Absolutely love anything with curry.

My favorite is one that is made by my grandmother and mother.  It's made only once a year -- for Chinese New Year.  It's a combination of descriptions.  The outside is made like a pastry, but is crunchy, not flaky.  The center is a mixture of toasted peanuts, toasted seasame seeds, toasted shredded cocunut, and sugar.  The toasted peanuts are crushed with a rolling pin and then mixed in with the remaining ingredients. This is the filling in the "pastry".  Can't describe it well enough...

The second is sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves.  The third is wontons (which I've shared in a hub).  Ah, there are many more, but I will stop my list here.  I'm getting hungry!!!

I love so much Chinese cuisine, having lived with the food for seven years of my life. One of my favorites is Tomato and egg soup.

I love all kinds of food but my favorite has to be Chinese, of course! Being that I am Chinese myself. As far as Dim Sum, it is just different type of dumplings. It means touch of heart:) If you want a easy way of cooking Chinese, there are a lot of different sauce which you can purchase at the oriental grocery store. If you plan to take the challege and do it yourself, one main ingredient you can't leave out is corn starch. Trust me, it is ancient Chinese secret,LOL,enjoy:)
