    Hi Everyone,

I'm new to Hubpages and just set up my first Hubpage. I have recently started a blog and am learning about so many different methods of marketing on the internet for free.

Would be great if people could share tips and tricks for driving traffic to your hubpages and blogs.

    Thanks!

I know there are lots of online traffic tips, but don't forget about offline traffic generation, too! Pick up a copy of the Writer's Market and look in the section for consumer and trade magazines.

Find your Hub topic. Let's say it's decorating your yard for Halloweeen. Find magazines that would publish a link about that (many magazines have online versions, but mags like Woman's World Weekly also prints links to online sites).

I was reading this very magazine around Halloween and found a lens URL in there in a section about decorating your yard for the holiday!  I contacted the lensmaster to congratulate him and he had seen a HUGE spike in traffic but couldn't figure out where it was coming from (since it was typed in directly by readers of the offline magazine).

Now they happened to pick him up on their own, but as a former offline journalist, I can tell you they deeply appreciate press releases that help them find stories and resources for their audience - especially the weekly mags. Just don't make your press release read lieka  sales pitch.

      Tiff wink

Isn't that going to be an expensive way of promoting yourself?! smile

No, not at all smile Most publications have email addresses they allow you to send your press release to, and the Writer's Market itself costs under $20 and it can be used all year.

Now if you had to send in a stamp for all of it, it might be - and offline publications USED to make you mail everything in, but they've come into the modern world now.

You can generate traffic by participating in Stumble Upon, digg, Deli.cio.us, blinklist, reddit. My advise to you is once you create your hub pages, got to these site and bookmark your hubpages so other will see your list. Also, write a blog about your hub pages at either blogger or wordpress.

What you want is lots of backlinks to your hubs. If you can get backlinks from high ranking relevant sites then that is even better.

terryg - you might want to break that link you have quoted like this:

    http:// www. spinsuccess. com/affili ates/id/ 6075_1

You have given it a dofollow by quoting it

The spammer's has nofollow applied because of their low personal hubscore big_smile
