It's funny how people have gotten their panties all in a twist over something like this.  Isn't the whole point of Congress to be able to thrash this stuff out in the open, rather than have it done behind closed doors. This is far from the worst thing that's ever happened in the halls of Congress, the beating of Charles Sumner comes to mind.

Since when is the president a king?  We're Americans, we don't do that sort of thing. The president is a glorified administrator, nothing more. Honestly, we need to see more outbursts like that in Congress. Much like a lot of America, Congress seems to be filled with sheeple too.

I am gonna go ahead and say beating a nan WITH A CANE is probably a little worse than that outburst!

Technically he followed him outside and continued beating him until his cane broke. On the other hand, there was a racial component to the event.

He followed him down the aisle not outside! But then again I wasn't there!

Sumner on Senator Stephen Douglas, circa 1856:
"noisome, squat, and nameless animal ... not a proper model for an American senator."

And we think politics is dirty now? People think Obama is being unfairly treated?

Oh he was beat in the Senate chamber that's for sure.  The only reason Brooks stopped was because his can broke.  Sumner suffered injury for the rest of his life.  Why was he beat?  For a speech that railed against the Kansas-Nebraska Act.  So much for free speech.  Obama should just suck it up and take it like a man.

It is gratifying to know that there are still some historical scholars out there.  It gives me hope that there are quite a few of us out there that will rise up and rebuild after our current crop of leaders run us into the ground.

Well, one thing's for sure...Wilson's comment has certainly generated a lot of cash - on both sides. Since Wednesday night, both he and his opponent have received over $1 million in contributions - each.

Heard this on radio news on the way back from a Florida fishing trip this afternoon.

To the President he screamed, its a lie
as all heads turned with a sigh
it was done in some haste
    with increditable dis-taste
now he sleeps, looking out with one eye!

All kidding aside, One appology is enough
Nothing can be gained by Pelosi fueling this along like she has some great invinsible power to repromand, like somewones grandmother punishing a grandchild.
It will not change the Opinion of those who truly believe he, The President, really is lying.

When Pelosi apologizes for calling CIA operatives liars, we can talk about Joe Wilson.

This may have been mentioned, if it has, sorry.  However, I read today that the democrats are demanding Wilson make a public apology on the house floor.

How insane and onesided is that??

It's typical. The Libs are held to a lower standard by the media, the voters, and themselves.

What if a Republican had $90K in his fridge?

        NAUSEATING.............

I know that people who do realize what the administration is up to really need to rally and contact their congressmen etc.  The government is aware that the stimulus didn't create jobs (unless your a czar) and want the country to be broke and unemployed because then they'll have complete control and it won't be pretty!

I think part of Jefferson's trial is ongoing. The media has somehow missed it completely. Good Grief, if a Republican was on trial for having $90K in the icebox, Olbermann and Maddow would be having kittens on live TV. We wouldn't be able to pry them off the air with a flame thrower.

I'm glad somebody finally stood up against Obama's socialist healthcare and unlike the rest of America who seems brainwashed by his charisma and "change" for the better, this man sees what's really happening.  Freedom of speech and standing up for what you believe in is what America was founded on in the first place.  Thank you Joe Wilson!
