   well, we actually got back on Monday night, but I've been busy since then, keeping the washing machine in business, catching up at work, etc. We're now down at my parents' house for the weekend, so Isaac can pick apples and play with the dog.
   
   We had a wonderful time - lots of sailing, swimming, windsurfing, snokeling, and eating.

   Thanks both. It doesn't need to be warmer, though. It almost never freezes there in the winter, because of the North Atlantic Drift.

    Lita, Tresco is one of the Isles of Scilly, a small group of islands 40-odd miles west of Land's End in Cornwall. Because of the North Atlantic Drift (called the Gulf Stream further south) the islands have a very temperate climate - never freezing in the winter, I gather. Therefore, there are lots of plants able to grow there that would die in the rest of the UK.
    
    The Atlantic is pretty chilly there, though - you'd have to be pretty brave to venture in far without a wetsuit. I think it's about 15 degrees C, but I could be wrong.

    Must admit, when I first saw this post, I misread it and thought that it said 'Back from Tesco."
    
    I was expecting a story about your weekly shopping experience and some nice pictures of tomatoes and eggplants.

    When we were in miami last year during the winter season it was cold. My kids just stayed at the pool and the park.  We are going to st. thomas for the winter, if i can find my 1 st grader a good school.  I loved your pictures and welcome back.
