First day, 1 hub and .32 cents. 15 hubs later, zero account balance

   The first day I started (10 days ago), I was excited to see that my one hub had made me .32 cents. I've now written 15 hubs, and have recieved over 200 impressions, but every day my google adsense account balance says zero. I'm assuming I've set up my account the right way, but I don't understand why I only made money on the first day and none since then. Can anyone tell me if there's a reason this is happening? I'm enjoying writing but it'd be nice to start seeing a few bucks (especially since my hubs seem to be kind of popular).

      It takes a while.
      
      The thing is though 200 impressions divided by 10 days divided further by 15 hubs means you're not as popular as you think you are.
      
      But I have had a quick look at some of your hubs, and you appear to be going in the right direction. Just keep doing the important bit, the writing. It can take months and months before you ever see your first $100 payout.

      Delaney, almost everyone finds they don't make much money in the first three months or so.  I wrote 55 Hubs in quick time when I joined, and still took three months to reach $10.  However once the money starts to come in, it snowballs - I'm now reaching the $100 mark each month. 
      
      And I know this sounds like the bleeding obvious, but a couple of newbies thought they were earning nothing because they were looking at the figure on the front page of Adsense, not realising that was "today's earnings" only. When they used the drop down box to look at the month's earnings, they got a nice surprise!

   It all depends on if someone clicked or not. There are days that I get a few cents and there are days where I don't get anything. You can get some cents for impressions but it all depends. I have 41 hubs and to date only made $1.11. I think it'll start making a difference once you really start getting people from search engines.

   Also remember that 40% of the time, hubpages code is in the ads not yours. You may have had a few more clicks but hubpages received the money.
   When you have few page views luck plays a role. It is only when you have hundreds or thousands of views a day does everything start to even out and the actual monetary breakdown apporach the 60:40 split.
   Your scenario is entirely normal.
   Keep plugging away and everything will pick up.

   You can get 1 click for months or you can get many a day. Pageviews don't mean clicks, and it normally takes a lot to get one. I get roughly 1 click per 250 impressions. And that's after doing a lot of work and waiting a long time.

   Thanks for the advice guys. I should stress that I'm not here to make money (I have my regular 9 to 5), but I was seeing a lot of newbies post about how they're making a few buck a week. It just got me worried because it seemed strange that I saw a return on my first day, but every day since then has been zero. I'll keep writing so definately keep an eye on me and thanks again for the shared wisdom.

   While I'm no expert, yet, I think that the keywords search engine searchers find your hubs with will have a lot to do with your AdSense revenue, some keywords can pay several dollars for a click, while some may pay only pennies. You will find you'll get very few AdSense clicks from fellow hubbers, the clicks will come from those that find your hub via search engines, who are looking for additional info, or a product, or service.
   So generally if you target high paying keywords (harder to rank for than cheaper ones of course, usually)and can get your hub on page one of the serps, you should get some search visitors make some AdSense money.

   I had my own domain and website for 11 years and experimented with that as to what the public likes to see.  I started here 2 months ago and I'm up to just under $10 in click money.  That is because I have had the experience of 11 years and knowing what to put in the keywords area.  I also made sure that my ads compliment the area of interest that my hubs are in.  Don't get frustrated, it takes time and patience.  There are days I only have 50 or so page views and other days that I get over 100.  The click rate for those days may only be 1 or 2 clicks but as my hubs increase so does my traffic and my click ratio.

   I really appreciate the feedback guys. Thank you profusely! I still haven't made any money since day 1 but at least I know that my account isn't screwed up. I was just playing out scenerios in my head of losing out on all sorts of money because I hadn't posted my URL correctly or some other minor mistake. Now I know that I'm still doing everything right. Again, I have a slew of hubs coming soon and you guys are a huge help! It's refreshing to see such encouragement and advice coming from a group of people I've never met.

      Ya just never know. I wrote one on Propofol (Diprivan), you know, the drug Michael Jackson used. Just sat there for a month. Then the L.A. Coroner cited it as the drug that killed Jackson.
      
      It shot through the roof...for a whole day...now it's back in the basement again.
      
      You just never know what's going to click sometimes.

    Im happy with 1 click per 100 impressions.
    
    So if i was you, and had 1 click for 200 impressions in my first couple of weeks, I would celebrate.
    
    So congrats, traffic will grow, and with some research you can make those .35 clicks become 1.xx clicks and higher
