Has anyone used this for selling through the ebay affiliate scheme and if so I would welcome any opinions on whether it is any good and/or creates any income?
Many thanks
I'm just starting - but I am inspired by this guy: bloggerunleashed.com - there is a lot of bullshit out there but his latest video on how to use BANS is unbelievable - unbelievable because he's giving it away free - no membership, no charge nothing - it was delight to give him the commission on the software and I really excited about : there are some other resource on my HubPages for Internet Marketing
Thanks Lissie - I will check out all the info you have provided.
A question on the BANS program itself - is it web based or is it actual software that you need to dowload and is it fairly easy to implement?
I suppose as to whether it is a success or failure depends on how much traffic you drive to it and whether it shows up in the seach engines.
Thanks again
I think of it as a very sophisticated wordpress theme! You need your own domain - you need to install a database on that domain - dont worry every host allows this with a couple of clicks. BANS is a series of scripts, html etc - you upload that to the domain - you follow the absolutely excellent instructions and it will work - that of course is the easy bit. You then have to get traffic to the domain - which is a whole other story. Oh and fee covers and unlimited number of stores/domains for ever!
BANS is definitely one of the most popular of the Ebay affiliate scripts and they have excellent support in their forums as well. You can also take a look at some of the Wordpress plugins available for Ebay. Google "phpBay Lite" for a free one and the paid one is phpBay pro. I prefer to use a WP script because they are very easy to work with. Takes a minute or two to upload and set up Ebay listings if you already have Wordpress up and running on your site.
As with anything online, you can make money as long as you can drive traffic to your site. The scripts ultimately don't have a thing to do with your financial success or failure. The ugliest site can make money if it has enough traffic.
Thanks Embitca. I have a question about Wordpress. I use Wordpress for a blog and really do like the usability. However, this is Wordpress hosted and not hosted on my own domain, which I think you need if you are going to use the plugins.
Do you know if there is some straightforward info anywhere about how to host Wordpress yourself - as I would like to do this but don't have a clue about the whole process.
Also if you have a blog hosted by wordpress can you move this whole thing across to a self-hosted one or is too late now it is up and running?
Thanks for any info.

It is easy enough to move from .com to .org also. A better place to look for information on that is here:

Thanks Mark - that's great info and your hub is really helpful. I will get signed up to some hosting and have a go.
Wow! I had not heard of BANS and it sounds perfect for some of the ideas I have. I'm off to check out bloggerunleashed right now. Thank you all for sharing! Cheers, Roland
Morning Folks,
I'm new here and probably shouldn't jump in like this, but does anyone know if BANS works with Ebay's Partner Network? Call it professional curiosity as I've got a really popular Ebay scipt I've re-released, so wanted to check up on the competition, LOL. The last time I looked at the BANS site, they were still talking about CJ - hence the question.
Anywas, nice to be here and looking forward to participating!
YES v3.0 seems to work fine - I can't compare the older version though as I have never used it
One of the great features in v3.0 is the sitemap feature which allows us to submit the sitemap of our BANS site to Google Webmaster Tools for faster indexing.
To be honest, BANS is the way to make quick money as the right way of doing it is much more simpler than everything else, for me. :-)
Bans has updates for all its vs. so that you can use Ebay Partnership Network. The change over from CJ actually ran perfectly compared to most other sites. To be honest with you the script is great, support is fantastic and if ebay tracks and reports sales efficiently then the sky is the limit really if you use BANS.

Despite all that's gone on, I still consider HubPages my online home and the place where I'd prefer my content live. In fact, I've been extremely impressed and excited about the niche sites, and my traffic for Hubs moved over has looked really, really good. However, I still have concerns, namely...

I have a blog on wordpress.com right now. After going through hoops for AdSense approval, I got it . . . on my blog . . . my blog that I subsequently discovered will not allow third-party ads. I should have just applied to get my HupPages approved, but its a long story that I won't get into.So now...

Hi Everyone -I'm almost in the market for a new blogging site, but before I make the final decision to leave the site I currently use (Blogger) I thought I should get some opinions on other sites and see what else is available. The reason I am considering leaving Blogger: Whenever I select...

I've tried this twice before, once through Yahoo (mistake) and once through VistaPrint (another mistake and they now have my name hostage). I once had a great site that a webmaster maintained for me and that was a good one (didn't make any money on it but hey)So I'm ready to try this again. I have...

I don't have a link to anything malware that I know about. We can't even put HTML in our profiles any more. Where is this coming from? It's come up three times tonight when I clicked on older posts I have written here. I checked the links in my posts and found nothing from the malware domain. Is it...

I know that several hubbers here set up separate web sites under domain names they own themselves. I would appreciate any feedback or advice on the best way to do this especially for people (like me) who aren't total techies but do have basic web experience. Which web hosting services do you...
