I just want to tell everyone that we were affected by the heavy rains and flooding here in the Philippines last weekend.

We are much luckier than some of our countrymen. Floodwater only reached knee-high inside our house.

Power was restored late last night so I have to beg your indulgence if I have not been answering your comments, etc.

Sorry to hear about that, but glad it wasn't quite as bad for you as others.  On the bright (ish) side (sort of), you could probably write some good Hubs about dealing with having that kind of thing happen (practical tips, helpful information, or the emotional experience for you or others you know).

Hi Jill - so glad to hear - we saw the news and it looked bad!

You are indeed blessed, with little damage and inconvenience. Close to 500,000 are affected, some still awaiting rescue, and many cold and hungry. We hope there will be no repeat, but besides climate change being part of the problem, there's clogged sewerage, crowding, and an inept government to deal with. Stay safe. Good you have power.

Hello thranax, Red Sonja94, JamV, Emie, dohn, crazdwriter, LisaHW, cosette, Dame Scribe, Flightkeeper, Might Mom, Shalini, IslandVoice,

Thank you all for your good wishes and concern. I am sorry if I am not able to answer you individually. There is still so much to do here. I am just taking a break right now.

We are indeed luckier than most of our countrymen. As of this writing, some areas are still flooded and some have not yet been rescued. Then there is another typhoon coming although it's expected to hit south from where we are.

God bless you very nice people! I'll be more active in hubpages soon.

Glad to hear you are OK Jill.  I'm sure there are other Filipino Hubbers - I wonder how they're doing?

There are still some Filipino hubbers we haven't heard yet to date.

Anybody here who has seen Cris A or mommyfreelancer? Their last activities were like 4 days ago.

I hope everyone is all right still...and I hope the typhoon doesn't hit and cause more damages. My prayers are for everyone over there!

I think this is the worst flood in Makati. My prayers to my fellow countrymen. I grew up in Makati but moved to Mindanao. It's my childhood place, so many memories there. Where were the victims relocated?  Some lost their homes, and worst..some lost their loved ones. More prayers.

Hello mtsi1098, Marisa Wright, mcrayne, crazdwriter, GoldiString, wheelsfrodo,

Thank you all very  much for your concern and prayers.

I am still in the middle of cleaning up and just taking a break. Our internet connection has been unstable since the typhoon so I can only write short notes. Anyway I hope everything goes back to normal soon.

    God bless you all.

Glad you are OK but as someone who was flooded a couple of years ago I know that can be a pain also. Take care. Thinking of you all. There has been some sad news from over there, and I guess there will be more to come.

      Hi Ethel,
Thank you very much! Yes, there are many stories that are not as happy as mine. It's really so sad and we are doing our best to help. I just hope and pray that the sad stories will not increase anymore. At least there are many stories that are heartwarming too.

      God bless!
