If you had cosmetic surgery - were you satisfied wtih the result or do you wish you never went through with it?

I have not had cosmetic surgery in my lifetime and I wish not to have one.

I have never had it, but I have heard many horror stories too. The risk factors and rising instances of antibiotic-resistant infections have certainly outweighed the desire for any elective procedures for me. My significant other has been a surgical tech for 30 years, I get to hear more and more bad things happening because of cosmetic surgery than just about anything else. I suppose it's one thing if you get an infection during a life-or-death procedure, but if it's just for a face lift or a tummy tuck it doesn't seem worth it to me.

I have due to a medical issue and I'm glad that I did. Even though it wasn't necessary, I still feel like it has enhanced my life through boosting my self-esteem/image

The only circumstances in which I'd have plastic surgery would be to repair damage, for example, burns, car crash, that kind of thing.

I've had these kinds of surgeries...they are anything but cosmetic!  They also make you think twice about going under the knife strictly for cosmetic reasons.

The only operation I've ever had was an emergency caesarian section - which similarly made me think that operations for the hell of it were to be avoided.

Caesarian sections are odd, though. The doctor gives you a pep talk about it being serious abdominal surgery, you need to rest, recover, be careful lifting things - and then they hand over a newborn baby to be looked after, by you. Shome mishtake, shurely.....

Noone's body is 100% perfect and neither is mine. I've always been afraid of not waking up from anesthesia so elective surgery not an option for me.
I do have a friend that owns a small hotel in Costa Rica and caters to people recovering from all types of cosmetic surgeries. Not a pretty sight but the few I've talked to swear by it, have had multiples and realize they are addicted and love it. I find that interesting.

I had breast reduction surgery and I certainly did not regret it. Less back pain and no deep gouges in my shoulders any more smile

I'd have that type of surgery, too, if needed. But not general vanity stuff.

I may have this particular surgery in my future too...right now I'm doing the best I can to use good posture and keep my back strong, but I already know that chances are eventually it won't be enough. I shudder to think of having to have any surgery, but this is one of three I'll likely have to get for health reasons before this life is over.

My good friend had this done a while back and has never regretted it, either. She is pleased with how clothing fits her now, but that is just a bonus - not the reason behind her decision. She had been in pain since fifth grade, the poor girl.

As for me, I wouldn't go under the knife for purely cosmetic reasons - I could never reconcile or justify it within my own conscience, I think. Just me, though, I have nothing against anyone who goes for the bigger boobies or tighter tushies - to each their own! smile (As has been pointed out, though, there are many scary risks that should be considered).

I have had cosmetic surgery(breast augmentation) and have not regretted a single minute of it. In fact, it was the best thing I have ever done for myself!

It is nothing ridiculous, just a little compliment and enhancing of an area that had been well loved by 4 children who reaped the practical benefits of my breasts.

Once that time was over, I wanted to transform them back into the fine specimens they once were. I am happier-and so is my husband!

Would really love to have my boobs done, seriously unhappy about the sorry state i find them in at only 29, after losing nearly 3 stone they are nowhere near there former glory and I know most women suffer the same irritation of irregular breasts but seriously its like a football and a golf ball down there! Maybe in a few years when I have had some children or learn to love myself?
