You are very interesting. I like your reply.haha
I think the managers of the Empire State Building are out of their minds.
doesn't surprise me though in this age of everything being "acceptable" with no defined boundaries.
So this?..nope doesn't surprise me.
Let freedom ring? With what communist colors? I don't think so.
If we look at trends and not just at static situations, I think we'd have to say that China is improving fast, and in many ways. While some other countries seem to be spiraling downwards.
(Why is this on the Religion & Beliefs forum?)
60th Anniversary of being communist....I honestly couldn't care less...
The revolution and its aftermath may have been deadlier than any world war: though estimates vary, research from the historian Chang Jung shows that as many as 72 million people died as a result.
During one five-year period alone, the Great Famine of 1958-1962, 36 million Chinese are believed to have starved as a result of Mao's Great Leap Forward, a government policy meant to industrialize the nation.
During those years of ruin, peasants ate bark, maggots, bird droppings, human flesh — anything to survive — as government storehouses stood full with grain and other cereals, neither the first nor last in China's troubled line of violations of human rights.

yeah.
I admire your reply, your really have a good knowledge of china's history.I am not study history, while I am very interested in history. while I am not so agree with what you said, It is really a hardship for the chinese that time, many people died, but no evidence shows your description about the govenment's cruel behavior, I prefer to believe that the face that hardship together.
60 years is quite a long time, during which many countries have had bloody revolutions and have emerged, eventually, to take their place in the World. Spain, for example, suffered as much as China in proportion to its size, as did parts of former Yugoslavia. China is very proud of its emerging status as a major economic and cultural power in the World. And as I mentioned earlier, it is 'getting its act together' in many ways. We should be encouraging its best efforts; after all it pays to keep in with the next superpower. Just be glad they are not calling the debt!
I am quite agree, your reply is so good, thank you.

A shocking news came out early this month about a 7-month pregnant Chinese woman who was forced to have an abortion because she already has a kid and cannot pay the fine of £4,000. This is one of the many painful instances brought by the one-child policy in China. Although, we cannot discount...

Web-site/URL: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503983_162- … ?tag=stackConsidering the fact that CHINA thinks that they are the giants of the world and can do whatever they want when they want and without consequences, this wouldn't be a shock

Should the U.S. be worried that China is massively building up their military right now?China is building up their military at a greater rate than Hitler did prior to WW2. China's military is as technologically advanced as ours.

Do you think it is wise to praise the Chinese successful 'state capitalism' ?The China's semi-command economics are successful in times of the global recession and for some people it feels like the way to go. There is growing Chinese investment all around the world.Behind U.S. global expansion was...
