What is the best software to use to recover data from a corrupted drive? I have tried many softwares but after seeing recovered files, I have to buy the software online to recover them. Is there a free software for this?

Theres no reliable free software for this that I know of.Restoring data from a corrupted drive is a hit and miss operation anyway, depending on the type of corruption.

You could pay the money and take the chance if the data is vital to you.

I could also advise you to make regular backups, but nobody ever wants that advice, so I won't even bother.
      Cheers,
      Eric G.

I also faced a situation of data loss in last year then my friend told me this software. I am using purchased version of this software.

Yes,This software is the solution of your all data recovery related problems name is Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery software. This software is a good data recovery application to recover lost, deleted, or corrupted data, hard drive partitions, photos, audios and videos in almost all logical data loss scenarios.

You can download the trial version of software from http://www.stellarinfo.com/ and if you satisfied with this you can buy from here  http://www.stellarinfo.com/disk-recover … fat-nt.htm

Beth, my experience is that it can be unreliable as Eric said, but the only place I would trust is here.

It doesn't help now, but the best way to recover data from a corrupted drive is to use a backup system.  The costs associated with backup and storage have dropped like a rock over the last decade with the advent of internet based backup and recovery.

As for recovering you hard drive, it's a hit and miss operation.  You could have someone use a shell to turn your internal hard drive to an external one and see if they can recover anything.  I'm assuming you want to recover documents, pictures, music, etc.  I've had quite a bit of success doing this for others, but some of your data might not be recoverable.

data recovery can be a bit of a problem especially if the hard drive was hit by a dread virus and you can barely get windows to start. Some might disagree but what works best for me when I see my hard drive doing that I simply remove the hard drive connect it to an external usb to SATA/IDE adapter and use the hard drive like a flash drive allowing you view your files without having to load windows. Once your file structure wasn't damaged copying files from the hard drive will be a breeze NB. You Must scan all retrieved data for viruses. You can then proceed to format and reprogram the affected hard drive

Data Recovery tools which are free, are limited and for test purpose only. Its better to get a registered version instead of risking your data.
Actually whenever a data recovery tool indexes your lost files, the path gets faded more and more by the hit of indexing. So try that you have an authentic version.

    Hello there,
I think Tenorshare Data Recovery will help with your problem.
It can recover data after deeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data due to  physical damage, virus corrupted partitions, drives crash, system sabotage, etc.
You can get it here: http://sn.im/anydatarecovery/
If it fails, you will have to go to a recovery office but let's hope not because it will cost you a lot of money .
