    Hello, everyone! I have been away for a long time but I am back.
    First, thank you, Emievil, my number one fan and cheerer (you beat General Howitzer to it!), for all the cheers and support. Love you lots!

    We were thankfully not affected by the flood, but our parents had to evacuate their homes and stay with us over the weekend - so we acted like an evacuation center.

    I work for the utility company that provides water to half of Metro Manila, so things are quite CRAZY at the office. On top of that more than 200 of our colleagues have been directly affected (flooded homes, lost things) but thankfully noone was harmed.

    I hope everyone will be okay soon. We are monitoring how this weekend's typhoon will affect all of us, so keep safe everyone!

    The worst flood to hit our country. I talked to a friend today, she said one of her Dad's colleagues died, he drowned inside their house. That is just horrible. Was it a flashflood? i thought of the drainage system there and how congested the area is. For some reason, i always correlate flood incidents with denuded forests. Good to know you are safe. I still think about the father who got drowned inside his house.

    @ralwus: thank you!

    @goldistring: it is indeed a phenomenal typhoon. It is officially classified as a T50 - heaviest rain in 50years. I don't think our drainage systems are designed for that. It is a product of many things, and we individuals, contribute to it whenever we improperly dispose our wastes. Certainly climate change is even more apparent now, right? They say Pepeng will make Laguna Lake rise like it has never risen in 90 years, but latest newsflash said Pepeng will continue to move away from us - let us keep our fingers crossed.

    Most casualties are older people, because the water rose so quickly. I feel for your friend.

    You all keep safe. God bless!

    Mommyfreelancer so glad to hear you and your family are all okay.

    Very sorry to hear about your friend’s father Goldi String.  Haunting to you all I’m sure.

    Hope the weather and conditions hold.  Everyone stay safe.

    Welcome back to the World of Hubs. Your message gave me a fresh look at an event I had been following on the world news. Can you tell me what Pepeng means? Somebody said that Pepeng would make a lake rise. I'm a bit ignorant on that term. Something like the floods really make you know how precious life is. (Here in Miami hurricanes haven't hit us yet this season, but I don't take anything for granted.)
    Again, welcome back and I'm glad that you're safe, although "swamped" (no pun intended) with work at the water office.
