   is short poetry ok ? is there a word requirement? if so how many?

   Second short poetry is just fine...I was told to at least have 500 words per hub, you can go less or more but the main thing HAVE FUN!!!! Again welcome!

         If you write for fun, you can write whatever length you like. but if you want to make money,you should write about other topics and 350 words hubs or more.. I do it for fun,so I have some hubs with more than 500 hundred words and many poetry with less than 200.

         lol I didn't think I could write 500 either but on the hubs I was able to...writing things I enjoy writing about. Then I also through in some fiction stories for fun since I LOVE to write fiction stories.

   People make money by writing articles that appeal to search engine traffic/people who will click on ads or buy through affiliate programs.  Poetry isn't going to earn any money, but if you're just doing it for funsies there's no reason to worry about the length, either.
   
   If you're the type of person who might actually have been published, it might be a great way to direct attention to your books though.

   700-1500 words seems to be the sweet spot if you want your hub to rank high.

    People make money here.  Plenty of hubbers get a payout ever month($100+).  Some people make a living here (typically those based in places with a lower cost of living like Africa or India).  I get a pay out every 2 months, ie I currently earn around $50-$70.
    
    Remember this is a passive income - I seldom write hubs these days (don't have time).  It is a bit like planting trees - Once the trees are established you just pick the fruit when it appears.  Or more accurately AdSense pick the fruit and transfer cash to your bank account..
