We released a few minor updates to the site today:

Hub violation warnings - We've added warnings to hubs that, by our automated analysis, we think may be in danger of violating one of our rules.  At present they are merely advisory -- they do not impact your HubScore and they do not actually prevent you from publishing.  They will appear on all hubs, whether published or not.  Hubs that aren't complete will naturally have these warnings on them.  They are nothing to worry about and will go away as soon as you've addressed the issues they mention.

Mismatched quotes in the forums - We now detect mismatched quote and end quote tags in forum posts and prevent you from posting a message until you fix them.  This will hopefully eliminating the shrinking font and other formatting issues that sometimes result from mismatched quotes.

There were also a myriad of other minor changes.  As usual, please let us know if you notice anything unusual (if the site seems to be acting funny, try holding down your shift key and refreshing your page first, before reporting the problem).

Thanks Paul;

My only hope is that somehow I can know, without actually going to each and every hub of mine - IF it has received a warning or not.  Currently, I have a few that I know of, only because I manually have been checking them.

I am hoping that these little "warnings" might show themselves up - somehow.

Thanks for helping us as hubbers to stay "friendly" to the bots:-)

Great idea Paul.

I just went through and deleted all the hub pages that were flagged.  Some of them actually had some decent traffic and click through rates as well. Bit of a shame though as one of them was on the first page of Google for a very competitive keyword.

Very innovative step. Congratulations to the hub team.

Thanks Hubpages, I'll go back and check all of my hubs.  My favorite thing about Hubpages (2 things) - your accessibility.  A great Help section and if I have a problem, there's always someone to help - these are not so prevelent at other similar sites.  Second, I love that I can go in and edit my work at any time.  I don't know how many times I've noticed a missed comma or other mishap days after I'd written the hub.  It's nice to be able to continually be allowed to adjust my hub to make it the best it can be. I haven't seen that in other places.  It seems silly to have a limit on editing.  Thanks Hubpages.

I'm glad you like the new feature and thanks for bringing your account into compliance voluntarily so quickly.  However, I have to say your idea of a very competitive keyword is certainly a little different than mine.

Me too... Paul, do we have to go through each hub to find the warnings? Or is there a way that it will show in out account page?

At present, they only show at the top of the hub in question.  This feature's mostly been added to help people in the pre-publication stage see the likely problems their hubs might cause.  Saves them grief, saves me grief, hopefully cuts down on the amount of hubs that actually have to be flagged and removed.

Oh ok. Thanks Maddie. Yes, I have seen the warnings in my unpublished hubs, waiting to be written and published. Noticed them last night. I must have misunderstood terry's comment, when he deleted hubs with the warnings.

We aren't necessarily looking for hubbers to delete hubs that don't comply, but are rather trying to point people in the right direction so they can correct possible problems themselves and avoid being flagged in the first place.

I like this.  I think it saves a lot of trouble.  I was just ready to publish a hub when it came with a warning.  I fixed it in two minutes and problem solved.

The warnings say too many links but most of my links are just to other Hubpages of mine. What is wrong with that?

That shouldn't be a problem.  The issue is when you have too many outbound links to a single domain, or you have links on a hub of duplicate content, or on a very short hub.  Click the "learn more" link to see more specifically what triggered the warning for each individual hub.

The warning feature is great. I had one today and it was very easy to fix and nice to see that it goes away once the page is in compliance. On published pages, how long will you generally give to bring a page into compliance? I don't work on my Hubs every single day (though I should!)

Not sure whether I need to just double-check all my hubs though. Is there anyway we could get some sort of color flag on the stats page for those hubs that have received a warning?

There is no set amount of time for correcting old hubs.  I think you'll be fine if you just make corrections as you notice the warnings, in the normal course of updating your hubs or moderating your comments.   The idea behind the warnings is more to educate new users and head of potential problems before new hubs are published.  It's not so much to force everyone to go back and correct every minor violation in their old hubs.
