This question is open to anyone really - I don't want to discriminate but it may be more suited to women.
Does anyone get emotional at films they shouldn't do?
I know I shouldn't admit this but every time I watch Mr Bean's holiday I blub at the end.  Just can't help it.  Saying that I don't laugh maniacally when Bambi's mother dies of course.
Perhaps I'm not the only one who found Mr Bean moving......?  Ok, shut up now....I was just wondering..

Can't say Mr. Bean has made me cry...okay, when he got the turkey stuck on his head I did laugh until I cried...

I cry at the silliest things when I'm watching movies...

I'm a blubberer (new word, lol). Seriously, the end of Mighty Joe Young gets me going every time with big crocodile tears. It's not only movies though with me, if I am invested in a TV show it can get me and some really touching commercials will get me. Ok, I'm an emotional mess, lol.

Those sobbing women? Among the people I know, some of the worst offenders when it comes to crying in movies are guys.

I will admit it. My wife loves to buy films that are guaranteed tear jerkers. The last one was Gran Torino.

Never thought I would cry at a friggin' Clint Eastwood film sad

            I know.

I didn't cry when he pulled a gun on those bad guys.

I didn't even cry when the bullets were ripping through his frail, old, diseased body.

But when that Hmong kid drove the Gran Torino away after the funeral, I just couldn't hold it in any more... sad

Yep, I'm a cryer at movies.  Can't help it.  Even stuff I've watched more than once can still get to me.

I hate it when I do that. I posted it in your post.
I've never seen Gran Torino, but my sons loved it.

I would imagine a lot of men cried watching Gladiator.

I usually have such great control over my emotions.  When I watch a movie though, I am powerless.  I usually weep in war type movies where buddies are killed.

yes, the the greeks even had a name for it: catharsis i.e. the emotional release that comes from watching something tragic... amazing how it helps afterwards!

I think this is a good thread but you are perhaps missing the point of the "knowledge exchange" forum.

Yes - Shrek for me too (especially shrek 2) and random adverts as well.  And Born Free - double blubbing there.
I can't watch Gladiator or Braveheart though - there's too much blood.  Actually, that's another story - I fainted whilst watching Million Dollar Baby - might have been that I had eaten a cannoli beforehand though and was feeling a bit queasy....
oops yes, knowledge...who's ever fainted at a film?  Ok, I'll shut up now....
