Did You Take the H1N1 Vaccine or Why Not?

   There has been a lot of debate with doctors, researchers, politicians and so on....
   Important questions arise such as:
   * Who should or should not take the vaccine
   * Should you take the flu shot or H1N1 vaccine
   * Should it be mandatory
   * Who are high risk people
   * What happens if we as a world population don't take the vaccine.
   
   As an example news reports in Canada show that only 1/3 of the population will take the H1N1 vaccine.
   
   If you make a comment, please indicate if you have or are planning on taking the vaccine so I can see what percentage of hubbers are taking it?

   I get the flu shot yearly not sure which my dr will recommend this year n my app't is next month. I think the regular flu shot should do just fine since I know how to take care of my health n in tune with my bodily needs lol

   Myself and our 14 year old are going to take the H1N1 vaccine, but my wife is taking the flu shot instead because of her immune system.
   We have been conflicting advice from specialists. I hope we are making the right choices.

   Well, my doctor recommended I get a regular flu shot since I am susceptible to sinus infections and colds. He didn't mention anything about whether or not he thinks I should get the H1N1 one. I haven't decided yet. Even though I now know 2 people with it. Luckily people I haven't seen in person for a few months...

   Me, no.  My 13 year old, maybe - I'll wait and see what his doctor says, because he may have already had it.  We know for sure he had influenza, but it was past 72 hours before we took him into the doctor, so they couldn't run a test. My daughter has a lot of health issues, so she will be getting it.

   My doctor has now said she wants me to definitely get the H1N1 shot because I've been so sick with infections during the last few months. So as soon as it's here I'll get jabbed.
   
   I have already had the regular flu shot as well. I'm not worried at all, I've never had a problem with a flu shot and don't expect to with this one either.

   Yes! everyone should take the jab. that's what goverments want. Don't they ? They are taking care of the people's health ! so kind of them.

   First of all, I have not decided yet if I will take the shot.
   Second, I may not have that choice since there is a "shortage" of vaccine it appears.
   Local news story reported that there is a problem with producing the amount promised. Report said that 40 million promised, but 30 million might be more like it.
   I know in Arkansas they are giving shots to certain groups first. (Medical staffs, children, pregnant women, others with certain medical risk.. etc.)Since I am in the "middle" of these two groups, I might not have the choice at all.

    im 41. ive never had a flu shot. and don't plan to start. i get the flu about every 4th year. and only once has it been pretty bad. i like to think my immune system is strong. i think it might be because i let it do its job. but , i just heard on the news a minute ago that 11 more children have died from h1n1.it seems to be a strain that hits kids hard which i find pretty scary. i dont have young kids now mine are grown.if i did tho id consider it hard despite my personal experience.

    I am not going to have the vaccine. Instead I am strengthening my immune system with super foods and natural supplements. I take simple precautions like washing hands first thing when I get back home. and most of all, I keep a positive attitude and do not give in to fear and panic.

    We were mandated to take it at first,I thought we were getting to the end of the world and the mark of the beast. I prayed and a week later it wasn't mandatory.wow!

    No, I am not taking the H1N1 vaccine. It is a bit strange to me that an epidemic of the swine flu could be predicted. I understand that Influenza viruses affect can be detrimental to certain sectors of the population. Usually the elderly and in this case children. However, I have never heard of anyone becoming fatally ill because they caught the flu. I am concerned about all of the vaccines we are required to subject ourselves to. There is a small percentage of a chance that any immunization could have some adverse effects. How do I know that this will not be the time that I become one of that minute percent of people? I don't.

    I left it too late, I have the flue.
    I am OK and have not been to the doctor, no need, but I will get it next season as the last one was magic! I watched em drop like flies around me and never got a sniffle.

    My other half got it when it came out, but it's only been here for a week so I haven't gotten it yet. I don't go out much and don't have exposure to many other people (one of the perks of being a home-based freelancer), so I wasn't sure if I wanted to or not. However, my other half works at the hospital and has regular exposure to it and there are already over 500 cases and two deaths in this town of 15,000, so I figure it's worth getting it.

    I got the regular flu shot and then the mist for H1N1, I had no issues with either and highly recommend it.  In fact, my husband and young son got both as well and we all three are fine.  I know it's  a personal discussion so good luck to everyone.

    People,please, be real. There is no such thing as H1N1 vaccination. It's all BIG PROPAGANDA  and BULL...* created for people to stop panicking and blaming goverment for doing nothing. And it's dangerous. In Sweden already 5 people are dead from vaccination and 2 from actual H1N1. I read myself couple days ago in the News. The swine virus is a nasty stuff and we need to get rid of it. But the proper vaccination is still VERY MUCH IN EXPERIMENTAL STATUS AND YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE A LABORATORY MOUSE? GOT IT?
