    AIDS is now the world's #1 killer of women from 15 to 44:  http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091109/ap_ … n_s_health

One in five deaths in this age group is related to unsafe sex.

In the U.S., Black males (7 times more than white males) are the highest race/gender followed by Black females (19 times higher than white women).

Eighty percent (80%) of all infections from women in the U.S. is from heterosexual contact compared to 19% from drug use: http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/topics/surveilla … states.htm

I referenced the CDC however this is definitely 2009 and in a couple of months it will be 2010 those percents are outdated.

      http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/surveillance/inc … nicity.htm

      Here is an update:

Therefore, the HIV epidemic cannot be viewed solely through the lens of race or ethnicity. Doing so not only diminishes the significance of behavioral risk factors, but also implies that just being a member of a certain race or ethnicity increases or decreases one’s risk. That implication can lead to stigmatization of racial/ethnic groups. Stigma directed at particular racial/ethnic groups—or persons living with HIV or who engage in risk behaviors—can interfere with the goal of fighting the HIV epidemic by leading to inaccurate perceptions of risk and reluctance to talk about HIV or access HIV testing or treatment.

it is on the CDC page many times our own white population does not report what they are infected with unlike other ethnicities the facts are reported when someone comes in for testing so the breakdown you have is from 2006.smile
