Hi someone.. anyone... whoever has the knowledge!

I have had a message about revising my hub.  It states it the reason was 'Deceptive Tags, Title, or Category'.  I have streamlined my tags now - I havent submitted for publishing yet - but the message is still there.  Would the message disappear if the hub was more acceptable or would it still be there until read through?

I am only just starting to get my head around the tagging situation and it was a shame that it was spotted before my editing - I have 30 to look through and change.  I have gone through other hubs already, making them more appropriate, but havent had the chance on this one.

Anyway, the updated title of my hub is Human Beings – Slaves to Nature! A Humorous Theory.
    The category is Entertainment...Comedy/Humour.
These are the revised tags picked from adwords tool...
    Tags
mother nature.. human nature.. human beings..humorous theory.. slaves nature.. nature slaves.. modern nature.. nature meaning.. nature life.. nature essay.. theory of nature.. nature view ..nature truth.. ethics nature.. morality nature ..nature theory.. nature of man

The message says that I should clarify this in the forum or 'contact us'.

I am finding this tagging business very difficult.

    Thanks guys and gurls x

This is the article.. if you can just help me with this, I hope that I can make my other hubs better.  I just need a bit of help getting this one right..

The Bloody Trees, Bloody Mother Nature - Grump!
This is a humorous theory on mother nature.  I wanted to turn a thought upside down.  This perception is meant to be funny and emphasise that us human beings are slaves to nature and, actually, we aren't in control of our enviroment - although we like to think we are!

So, us human beings think we control nature. We are top of the food chain and, as clever little monkeys; we devise tools for every aspect of our lives in this control.

Have you ever thought, however, that this might not necessarily be so? We take from our environment and reconstruct it into useful resources; but maybe there is a hidden agenda? Maybe nature nurtures humans!

We are so obsessed with control. We go into our gardens and fields and spend endless time sowing, cutting back and tidying. So, what are the plants doing whilst we are clearing up and after them? NOTHING! They are just swaying in the breeze, taking in the sun and sucking up what us MUGS are providing for them!

O.k., So, there are some benefits to us. We breathe, eat and eliminate what is produced. Low and behold, nature then has a free lunch! Outrageous! The trees are the worst culprits. They have some audacity, those trees! They demand cutting back by overgrowing – over my pathway! Then, to add insult to injury, they drop their leaves! They’ve got me cleaning up after them again! They’ve got some nerve, you know! If I were to drop my clothes and go naked in the street, I’d get prosecuted! And as for those evergreens…they are nature’s pimps! They are getting off on the fact that some dirty old oak is behaving pornographically! Free porn for all! Disgraceful! Not only that, the stripping oaks, enjoy it!

Mother Nature - You've Been Sussed!
We take of the earth, mix it with a little of this and a lot of that. Just like a recipe. These individual components of nature don’t moan or object – it just lies back and lets it happen. Just like ‘pampering’ at the local masseurs. If we didn’t do it, nothing would get done! So, we organise and unite nature’s components, thereby, changing into something new. O.k. We might make use of the new item, but without our input, the component would stay as it has always been. We are slaves! Just think of the planning, research and organisation it takes to create something wonderful from things of simplicity. Concrete, for example, we take from the earth in various parts, create a soft substance that turns hard and organise it so as it is useful. Just like a metamorphic butterfly, components have changed into something new. We might lay it to make a road – nice.. tidy… organised and creative! This would never happen if it weren’t for our hard work. As I said, we are slaves!

So now you can see it. That of ‘so called’ inanimate objects has modified human’s behaviour! We work our bottoms off for nature, free of charge! We will also pay others if we can’t do it for ourselves! This is worse than slavery! Nature works off the basis that if we don’t serve it, then it gets chaotic and totally takes control. Over time, she will wear away what we have created for her and within her. She will destroy and ruin, until some other mug comes along and makes good. She wins both ways! WE ARE THE SLAVES!

We mould the world. So, who controls whom? You can’t develop any behaviour modification programmes for mother earth. No A.P.I.E. (Assess, Plan, Implement and Evaluate) principles can apply here – there is just no reasoning with her! She goes her own way, manipulates and takes advantage of our cleverness. Manipulation is formed on the basis that one knows that one is being used - we are now aware… LOOK OUT MOTHER NATURE – YOUR COVER IS BLOWN!

So now this concludes to my humorous theory.  Irrevocably, human beings are slaves to nature!

Shaz, deceptive tags or title means that either the title doesn't match the content of the work, or that you've used keywords that aren't used in your title, subtitles, summary para and first paragraph. See, keywords will not help you if the words are not used in these areas. Does this help?

Yes it does.  Thank you.  But would the highlighted message on the top of the edit screen disappear after hub adjustment or would it still be there until a human has read through?

I just want to know if this hub is now acceptable now I have made the adjustment, the message is still there.

      This is the message:

Maybe try recategorizing if it'll fit somewhere else. Or, rework your title, subtitle, etc. I don't think others can see it, just you. At least, one of mine was marked duplicate, but others couldn't see it. Just keep working it, it'll come through!

Oh and you have no subtitles, try that. Make some out of your keywords and insert them.

You want tags to represent what the Hub is actually and genuinely talking about, and not just be words used in the text that don't accurately explain the subject matter.

Your Hub is not about the nature of man, or slaves, morality, truth or ethics from how I understand those topics.

And just as a note, starting multiple threads on the same topic is considered bad forum etiquette.

Mother nature modifies the nature of man.  Man are slaves - slaves to nature.  I thought changing human behaviour was about ethics - mother nature's inertia is unethical.  Oh, I don't know, maybe it is me?  Maybe my thoughts on categories are blurred.  I am not sure that I am cut out for hubpages.  I can do the writing, but not the tagging.

I dont want to have my account closed because I am having difficulties in this.  I just need to practice and think...
I have spent days on this tagging issue.

It is nearly as difficult as 'statistical anaylisis' that I had to do for my hons in psychology! lol

I thank you for your help.

p.s. will the highlighted message on the top of the edit screen disappear after hub adjustment or would it still be there until a human has read through?

I just want to know if this hub is now acceptable now I have made the adjustment, the message is still there.

I've never had a hub flagged by admin, but my understanding is that you will need to email them that you've edited the Hub and they'll approve it for republication.

If someone searches for "slaves," your Hub is irrelevant.  If someone does a search for "ethics," your Hub is irrelevant.

Your Hub is a humorous piece about trees, but it's not about all those big philosophical words you've thrown into the tag section.  This is where you have to get beyond just how you are looking at the Hub and think about how the broader audience of humans uses those words, and how a search engine (a robot made by humans) uses them.

And you've used the word "nature" too many times in your tags.  You want to not use a word or phrase more than three times in your tags as some engines rank you down for the redundancies.

It should come off after you make the changes. If it's still there, maybe there's something that you're not seeing that needs the change.

A title is a picky sort of thing. Just to humor the software, try changing it and see what it says. It might go away.

Nobody else can see it, so don't worry about that.

You're cut out for Hubpages, you're just having a hard time learning the keywords, titles, etc. It's not rocket science and you will get it, keep trying.

Your hub won't be closed, don't worry about that. Just keep trying to work it.

    Good luck!

As the warning on the hub states fairly clearly, you must submit the hub for publication before it will be reviewed.  If you just correct the mistake and don't submit it for publication the warning will never go away and the hub will never be republished.

But KCC says that the message will go within 24 hours *confused* once edited.  I dare not send it for publishing unless I know for sure that all is ok.  It says if I keep publishing without correct changes, then my account might be closed!  I am only learning and don't know if I am getting this right.  Its like chicken and egg, if you yoke what I mean!lol

Actually, I am really am having difficulties here.  So I copied the article for someone to show me the way.  If I have an example, then I just might get it.  It is just up the post.

        Help!

        Shaz x

Btw.. How come my red arrow (suggesting increasing traffic) is pointing up on this article that needs revision?  Gee- as if it isnt complicated enough!

pauldeedsposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Well, KCC was wrong in this case, or maybe he thought you'd already submitted it for publication.

There are two kinds of warnings that might appear on a hub -- those that are automated, and those that are triggered by human review.  The ones that are automated will go away automatically if the problem is corrected.  The ones that are based on human review will only go away once the hub has been submitted for publication and re-reviewed (this fact is always noted in the description of the problem when you click learn more).

If you repeatedly submit hubs for publication that hasn't been corrected, your account could be closed.  But we rarely take that step.  It's there to prevent incorrigible reprobates from wasting our time.

I looked at your hub and the tags are fine now.  There might be a better category for it than what you've chosen, but I think it will be republished in short order if you simply submit it.

I thank you.  I've changed the category-entertainment/humour.  Would I be penalised from using 'suggested tags'?

I noticed on 'tagging' help this.. •Every tags page links back to your hub. Popular top-level tags like technology, entertainment or finance are seen on HubPages's front page.'  Does this mean that I have to not only have this in the category, but in the tagging list too?

Do I also need to repeat what is in the title to the tag list as well? ie.. 'human beings - slave to nature - a humorous story' will become:  human.. human beings.. slave.. slave nature.. slaves to nature.. humorous.. a humorous.. a humorous story.

I won't submit this hub until I am confident that I am doing the right thing!

If I get this tagging idea right.. i will never be a pain again and I will be happy and confident in hubpages.

You've got to think about what people are searching for.

If a person were searching for 'human beings' (not sure why, but anyway) would they expect or want to find your hub (if you did manage to rank highly).

Keep to the simple keyword phrases from the Google Keyword Tool. Don't use all of them. And unfortunately the HP system doesn't give the best suggestions.

Don't fret and fuss over it. I'd keep it to less than ten. Later, when you've got the hang of it, you can always add more. In the meantime though it's better to have just a few than too many.
