This is my apology to posters on a recent and ongoing thread about the state of the economy and unemployment in America. During the space of a discussion things got quite heated between myself and two other hubbers and I would like to apologize for hasty remarks I made. This recent and ongoing economic tragedy has brought many like myself virtually to our knees and destroyed our livelihood and income. I take many remarks towards so called job-hunters and the unemployed personally especially when coming from those who themselves are fortunate enough to have a job and money coming in. I personally feel that many Americans are taking a somewhat critical and dismissive attitude towards many who are struggling just to survive, lumping them into a category of the lazy and no good without taking the time to investigate or appreciate the true length and scope of the unfolding issue.

Regardless everyone on this forum has the privilege of an opinion and viewpoint, if I agree or not is really not the heart of the matter. Whether or not I feel people are acting maturely or responsibly with their words does not dismiss me from the same. I should have allowed such things to flow past me and not took issue with remarks that are ultimately no concern to me. So to all you I have offended, I do apologize and hope to move beyond this petty ridiculous drama of the forums.

It takes a real man to apologize. I commend you for standing by your beliefs and wiewpoints. I have noticed things get out of hand quite often in these forums, and not too many people apologize for cutting words, Cheers to you, always a fan!

Hi Scott. I was not in the forum you speak of, but I have witnessed a lot of ugliness within the forums in the past. I try very hard to not take it personal and keep my posts as objective as possible. I commend your willingness to come forward with a heartfelt apology. Well said.

    Hey Scott,

You're somewhat like I am. You believe you are yourself and no other can tell you, who or what you are, because they are not you.

I can relate to that. If we have had words or I've offended you, then I shall take your apology for what it is and return you one of my own.- I apologize, if I've offended you in any manner.

    Have a great day.

    Scott,

I too have felt badly and even sent an apology to the thread originator. That was also the first real participation for me in a forum of any depth. Since then I have stayed shallow and have been watching how a thread unravels in hopes of learning how it went so wrong.

You have a hub that addresses how we need to speak on forums - the generalizations and much more on how to respectfully debate, etc. I thought I had book marked it, but I fail to find it. Would you please post the link here. Under the circumstances I think we could all benefit. It is a very good hub.

My situation has also made me very sensitive. The loss of my health, career and life expectancy have brought me to my knees, too. I had not realized how quickly I could be wounded and I handled it poorly. I am working on my thick skin..<joke>

Your apology is accepted and I hope you and the others can accept my apology as well. I would like to feel I have something to contribute as well as learn here.

      Peace? Holly
