What is wrong with my hubs?

I wrote four hubs and I received warnigs about not having enough tags on all. What is the best way of handling this besides adding a bunch more tags that have little relevancy? I read spammers use a bunch and scores can be lowered for this. Yet, mine lack enough. Is there a good number?

Also, the scores are low and I thought I wrote well. I wrote them as I would want to read them, if i knew little or nothing about the subjects. Help! Feedback please!

Also, how do I find out my URL so I can post it on my own site? I wnat to lead people to my page, and my hubs. Is it better to focus one the hubs, individually?

You can do either.   Whichever one you want to use, all you have to do is open that page (whether it's your profile or the article) and the url in your address bar is it.

I'd say it's best to point people to a specific article, because that way they can read something that interests them straight away.  It really depends where you're posting.

    Hi Patti:

Those automated warnings are meant to help guide new hubbers in the right direction.  They do not affect HubScore or publication status, and you are free to ignore them where they do not apply.

You are right that an extremely large number of tags will lower your score.  A small number will not, but it will make it harder for search engine traffic to find your hub.  You might try adding a few specific phrases that speak more directly to the exact topic of the hub.

HubScore depends on a large number of factors, including traffic, and how much of that traffic comes from outside sources.  If you look just above this thread in the help forum you'll see a sticky thread that has resources for new hubbers.  Listed on that thread is a link to a hub by hubber Darkside, that compiles the information we staff members have given in answers to different questions into one, more cohesive picture of how HubScore works.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Patti, and welcome.

It may help you to know that tags don't have to be single words.  So for instance, in your Positive Parenting Hub you could have the tag "positive parenting" as well as "parenting".  You could also have "bringing up kids".  Think of the various words people would type into search engines if they wanted to find the advice you're giving.

I also recommend you read some of Darkside's Hubs about how to put a Hub together.  I found this one particularly useful:

    http://hubpages.com/hub/capsules

One of the main tips is - don't write all your text in one capsule.  Split it up over at least two capsules.  As time goes on, you'll probably use more so you can play around with layout in a more sophisticated way.

Thanks for the replies! I will try the hub suggestion instead of the guide. My computer just does not like the guide for some strange reason!

Have you downloaded Adobe Reader?  The guide is in PDF format, so you'll have trouble reading it without.  Adobe Reader can be found, free, on the Adobe website.
