I wrote a Hub several weeks ago about my horse Ben and how he gave his life for me (no I'm not self promoting).  That accident happened one year ago today.  Pray (or take a moment of silence) that I can find the exact spot where he passed to so I place the cross we built from our barn wood.  No one who would know seems to be responding.

    Thanks all.

Unable to find his passing spot. Joe and I decided it best to take Monte out to Ben's burial spot and place the cross there. There was a silence in the cold air and I know Monte knew what was going on and so did Jack and Ty. And, of course when I put Monte back in the pasture, Ty, the friesian was there to give me a kiss as Jack looked on. Monte stood still in the pasture for awhile and looked out over the field but then moved with the herd. I think we made the right choice.

Monte and Ben were inseparable.  Telling him of the accident was one of the hardest conversations I think I've ever had.  Monte is comforted by Ty, the new friesian in our herd.

Sorry to hear about your loss, even if it was a year ago. I'll give my moment of silence for Ben as well.

We chose to put the cross on his burial spot so we can see it and maintain it.  AND to top off the week, found my goat deceased on that very spot yesterday.....the YARD GOAT.  We're bummed.

For whatever reason, Goaty is gone to make room for us to teach our lessons to another baby somewhere else who needs us.  Remember the Grandest Foal poem?  I have to live by that now....is time was short but we taught him what he needed to learn here.  I'm good with that.  time to teach another.....

Thanks for your concern.  I do truly appreciate it!!!!!
