Do any Hubbers have experience of using Second Life (SL) for education or training? I'm keen to hear real-life experiences of its use. I'm very new to SL and my interest, professionally, is in specialised training although I am also a qualified science teacher.
I'm really impressed with what I've seen so far but think its real strengths lie in education; particularly at University level. If you are interested, I've put my first impressions of SL into a Hub:
http://hubpages.com/hub/Second-Life---A … erspective
Rik - you sure struck a chord with Hubbers everywhere - 2nd Life is obvously not a hot topic in this neck of the woods!
You know the first sign of madness is talking to yourself.
The second sign is.......
Really ? speaking to yourself would boast up your confidence
I haven't but I believe Stacie has a hub on it. I jsut can't seem to find it.
It was on a CSI episode, where the kilr was picking people through Second Life and then finding them in real life. But that was looking at it from a social standpoint, not educational.
You have a point Mark!
Whitney - Yes I read Stacie's hub and have linked to it from mine. Second Life is certainly a fertile ground for movie and TV drama plots!
Hi rik
I wrote a hub about online education and I covered Second Life as an education source. Perhaps you might enjoy a bit on that. A good video is posted as well.
Write-On!
Thanks for this Write-on - I have added a link to your Hub from mine. You've got a comprehensive set of links to all kinds of on-line learning. Excellent stuff.
I still have a few reservations about SL but I think Virtual Worlds have a big future in business, education and training - I'm going to a conference in London next week on e-learning and new training technologies so it will interesting to see what comes out of that.
If you are interested in Second Life and Education - I've just published a new Hub on the subject. I'm working my way (in terms of Hub writing) through all the aspects on Second Life including business, social networking, shopping, leisure, crime and finally sex ( not that I have any personal experience of sex in Second Life!).

Do you make real money from Runescape, Second Life, or other MMOs?With Diablo 3 on the horizon and Blizzard's attempt allow players to sell items and gold for real money, I'd be interested to hear if anyone is currently making real money from gaming outside of writing guides here on HubPages.

I'm about to post my first Hub, but along with the butterflies I'm having second thoughts. My Hub is a personal, humorous story, about a life lesson I learned, but upon further review I realized that it doesn't have helpful business info, web ideas, etc like so many of these great Hubs I've been...

I personally, welcome any and all advice from my readers that is constructive and true. I find that my work improves dramatically and I'm more interested if discussions result...
