Erm.. why is there no option to indicate there is a copyright violation?

"Other" could be anything, how would you know what to look for??

If your material was copied, you need to follow these steps to report a violation.  If you aren't the copyright holder, I'm not sure how you (or we) would know whether permission for use was granted or not.

Its not mine, no - I can, and have, resolved those issues myself.

I think its pretty easy to assume the mayo clinic and other well-known sites did not grant permission for someone to copy and past a paragraph from each site to make their own hub.

      That's blatant.

And if that kind of thing is "allowed", it sucks. sad sad sad

It would be nice to be able to insert a reason (perhaps in a text box) for "Other" when flagging a hub.  I tried to flag one because it had tons of spammy comments on it, but the hub itself wasn't spam, so I checked "Other" but I wondered if anyone would notice the real reason for flagging it.

You should let the copyright owner know so that they can file a DMCA take down notice if they so choose.  It's neither practical nor possible for us to make a determination on every single piece of content that flows through HubPages.   If we even tried, we would immediately become liable for all infringements that we didn't catch.  That's just the way the law works.  You can read more about the DMCA Safe Harbor Provision by following these links.

Not exactly allowed, but there is a procedure that we must follow in order to maintain safe harbor protection under the law.
