Some one asked me thru e-mail (Name sounded a female)to write about weight loss. I would be paid, they said. I sent it through. That was the last I heard from him/her. On one my idle days some days later, I checked in articlecheker.com and lo and behold, I saw my article in hubpages. I contacted the gentleman and appraised him of the facts thru hubpages. He seemed interested first but was callous later. It was then that I realized he was part of the racket. He STILL hubs.

I thank him here for making me wiser to the ways of internet scamsters

You should report this to the HubPages team - they will remove his hubs and close his account - you have the evidence in the form of the email exchanges.  You will be helping the whole HubPages community by doing this.

My advice if anyone does approach you to write for money is to either use paypal and ask for half the money up front and half on delivery (a real buyer will not mind doing this). Or ask them to use Elance's escrow system - they need to deposit the funds before you start work.

Thats some good advice! I will have to remember that if I am approached with the offer of work. I was approached by one person and they kept their word but I took the attitude that I might lose my work and decided it was worth the risk to find out if it was legit. Was like $12 for 4-5 paragraphs of text so no big loss of time if it wasn't legit.
