I just read this and I was wondering what your take is on the new sun maid girl?
http://finance.yahoo.com/family-home/ar … love_money
the concept of beauty is evolving, but the beauty and the essence is lost, I like the old one
True - in this day and age when girls have such low self-esteem and are constantly trying to live up to those images of models they see in the magazines, here comes the new sun maid girl, just one more change to validate that sort of thinking - you need to be thin to be beautiful. Like I noticed before - they made her prettier and thinner. Should have updated her previous look without making her look like a new person all together. Thanks prettydark for opening my eyes and re-evaluating :-)
pretty haha whats the prob mother effing sufferage
I like the new one..ppl need to get over themselves and get ready for change. change happens everyday and ppl just want to pick stupid fights over change when it's going to happen whether they like it or not.
She does look better - and thinner too! Next thing you know, Aunt Jemima will be getting a makeover or maybe even Mr. Clean. Would be interesting to see :-)
Aunt Jemima should stay the same but Mr. Clean needs a less shiny head
Ha! good one! I think the change is for the better. Got to get with the times!
He can probably afford hair plugs by now and a nice white suit or something. Get a little bling goin too! Aunt Jemima needs to let her hair down for a change - take that kerchief off her head and maybe get a new dress. Don't changer her outright just a small makeover :-)
she looks nice and healthy and wholesome! how funny that people get all weird over a corporate mascot.
People don't necessarily seem to mind when a company retires an icon, or features it less prominently, but a lot don't like to seem these images changed. Maybe it makes business sense to keep a "character" and just modernize it; but it kind of bugs me that so many people seem to think we have to see "ourselves" (modern-day people) in something like the raisin girl. The mentality that these old, classic, "art pieces", should change with the times is kind of like expecting the Mona Lisa get with the fashion times, lighten up a little, and consider losing a few pounds.
There's a reason classics turn into classics. Then, though, in fairness to the Sunmaid people, I've been known to buy Dole raisins just because clean, fresh-looking, box makes me feel as if the raisins are fresher.
Hmm... the old one was very outdated, but I don't really find the plastic Barbie android look very attractive.
I prefer the old one. This one does look like Barbie with a brown wig on and bonnet. And, when she talks I want to smack her.
The new sun-maid is a dirty slag I tell ya.

Have you ever wished you could hear what other people were thinking? There have been times when I wished I could know what another people were thinking. At times it could have saved me from making big mistakes. It would have come in handy early in life.
