What do you eat for Christmas breakfast and do you eat before or after you open the gifts?

    Just Curious

    Thanks

After we open gifts. My kids would not be happy if they had to wait. I usually make eggs, pancakes, bacon, and toast.

I'm still a kid at heart, I'm too excited to eat until the presents are opened. big_smile And, then it's usually left overs from the night before big_smile

We eat after gifts and usually it's whatever we can make for ourselves. we don't have a huge christmas breakfast because we know that later on we are going to be having a big lunch/dinner at one of my cousins' houses. it's nice

Pigs-in-blankets, eggs, pastries, and coffee - then it's off to visit the grands to see what Santa brought them! I'm lucky - my three daughters and their families all live within 18 miles of us.

I personally find it impossible to eat first when there are gifts waiting to be ripped open.

Then a bagel and chocolate with coffee  big_smile

We have blueberry muffins, sausage balls, chocolate chip/m & m cookies, orange rolls, pigs in a blanket, canteloupe, chocolate sauce and fruit dip, ambrosia with whipped cream, hot chocolate, coffee, and cappacuinno all this is prepared with me getting up very early and setting about making it. Then everyone gets a plate and grubs for a bit while listening to Christmas music and then we pass out the presents going around the room to open them.

Afterwards we might munch again just depends then we have a very non-traditional dinner of sandwiches or head out to waffle house.

I have to admit for most of my Christmases since the age of 16, my breakfast on Christmas day has been the left over pizza from the night before.  The joys of being British smile

Christmas breakfast is fresh homemade doughnuts, sausage and eggs.  We open the stockings while breakfast is cooking, and the kids can play with what they got there.  After breakfast, we open gifts.

We have a whole, big, long, breakfast buffet type of thing; so we don't get around to gifts until after dinner.  We open a thing or two on Christmas Eve and a thing or two here or there, but with no young children and all adults, we don't get to the "gift event" until people have had dessert.

eggs benedict or a breakfast cassrole (depends on where we are) accompanied always by champagne with cranberry juice & coffee  but only AFTER the presents!  However my sister would always perfer the waffles with berries and whipped cream...  smile

Tradition in our family -  Kids check the gift left by Santa then breakfast.  Always coffee cake, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon. Then we open the gifts.
