As many of us know, the movie "Pay It Forward" has created an absolute, wonderful following of good will to others,in many ways around the world. If you haven't seen the movie yet...I would highly recommend that you do. This question will make much more sense to you then.
In the spirit of Christmas, I would like to have this forum inspire us all.

We purchased a turkey for a lady who wanted to have her family over for the holidays, but could not afford all the trimmings. We also contacted a local church and requested food boxes for people who would not ask for one themselves. We also provide transportation to stores for a family that currently has no automobile. We are also wearing Christmas hats and handing out free issues of our holiday magazine, along with candy at local stores and events. We believe firmly in Paying it Forward!

wow! That is wonderful. It is amazing how humbling being in this position is. You are absolutely right to contact your local church and put together food boxes for people who would not ask for one, you see, I have always been the one to give, not ever ask to receive. I know that I could go to the local salvation army or other and ask for help, but yet, I don't. I feel that by helping others even now, I am better serving myself and my family. I am a hopeless romantic perhaps, but I have always found that everything works out okay in the end. Just because I do this, I would not want to discourage anyone else for asking for help. I just feel that there are so many more in need than we will ever be. My hope is sincerely, to help as many people as possible, be the absolute best that they can be. Nothing more and nothing less. This gives me comfort. God bless you and your committment to making life better for others.

We spent yesterday delivering fruit and candy boxes for some folks we know are struggling. People who would never ask for help. It's great to see the smiles on their faces when we show up with some goodies. We always stick around, talk and laugh and just enjoy each others company. I am hoping as our revenue from our publication grows, so will our "Paying It Forward" efforts. There is so much we can all do to make this world a better place. We would also like to eventually start a program for young mother's in our area, to teach them resume skills, computer skills and let them know what programs are out here that they can utilize to move them forward. Thanks for your compliments and for your wonderful heart. They say it only takes a few to make an impact and change the world one blessing at a time. Bless you and yours this holiday season!

Thanks Holly! That is terrific. Yes, in these busy lifestyles that we all lead and expenses that we all incurr, it is sometimes difficult to spread ourselves anymore financially. However, I agree with you, if we all do our personal best, whether that be financially or by giving our time, to others, it will make the world a much better place!

I'm providing Christmas to a single mother with two young children. She can't find a job. When my daughter delivered the gifts to her the other day, the mother cried tears of joy. She was so afraid that her little girls would not have anything for Christmas this year.

That is wonderful. This is truly what Christmas is all about. I love hearing what people are doing that is special for others. What you did for them, will give that woman hope that things will get better, and that people really do care.

I get so much pleasure from helping homeless addicts on Christmas Day.

Working with the needle exchange and handing out sandwiches and juice, clean needles and a candy cane.

Mostly just being able to say Merry Christmas, knowing no one else has.  It's then most of them smile, and to me, that's Christmas and what it should be.

Pay it forward indeed.  Greatest gift of all, is giving.

That's wonderful that you do that. You put it so well in your answer. Sometimes, those acts of kindness we show, are the only kind moments that many people ever have. Every smile and hug counts!

We give to various charities. But we don't just do this at Christmas; we do it all year.
