Am I at risk for committing a huge Hubber faux pas for asking for help on getting some fans? I currently have ZERO, and it makes me sad.
Please don't yell at me if I have behaved badly by asking! I am still new and learning the ropes a bit. Thank you.

Happy Hubbing.
Yea, you get fans as you write more and get better hubscore and post on the forums.
Thanks. Love the witty poem! I have written 14 hubs so far...but plan to write much more. Thanks again!
Uh... under a different name? Not showing up in here that you've written anything... but your profile says that you have... GOODNESS!!!
I'll check it out now...

Pro, I think she has them written but not published or even online, maybe in a journal or something.
If you want fans publish your works, I'm sure if its good content you will get some fans in no time
Hope this helps,

Yes, this is really weird. I can see her articles listed in her profile page but the number of hubs shows up as "zero". Is this a glitch?
LMAO! It just didn't update...wow the updater must be slow or has an error..
Ann, there are two schools of thought about "fans" here on HubPages.
Some people view them a bit like friends on Facebook or Myspace, and play "I'll be your fan if you'll be mine" games. Others take the term literally - i.e, a fan is someone who admires your work.
Personally, I prefer the second definition - it's a great feeling to have that kind of fan, because it's a validation that your writing has some merit. Whereas if people are only joining to be nice, it tells you nothing! So I will only become a fan if I genuinely like someone's writing, because I'd rather have a few real fans than 500 friends being kind!
However, everyone's entitled to make their own choice about how they want to use the fan system.
As people notice your Hubs, you'll get fans. Patience is a virtue!

I have to issue a grovelling apology here, I stuffed up mightily. I posted an explanation of how to claim authorship with Google, and made one small but extremely important mistake. For those who followed the original advice, my sincere apologies. You need to edit your profile and...

After seeing Hubbers announce certain milestones such as view numbers, first $100 payouts and HubPages anniversaries I thought that it would be really cool to create a more automated and easily broadcast way to let other Hubbers know these milestones by sending them through the Hubtivity. I am...

Lyricsingray started the excellent thread "Recommend another hubbers hub"....I thought that it would be a great idea to dive much deeper into the depths of this vast lake of words and pluck out some treasure. So rather than recommend a hub by some of the big fish who have already been...

As many of you know, Google recently introduced a feature to identify authors around the web. To be recognized as an author, you need to create a Google profile and add links to your profiles on the websites and blogs where you write (which includes your HubPages sub-domain).However there is...
