Hi everyone,
Hope you had a good Fourth! Okay, I realize that as a new person, I will not be on the front page of Google like some of you pros! But, I was curious where my article "Practical Ways to Save Money, Part 1" would show up on Google.
So, I typed in "practical ways to save money." As expected, there were lots of articles on this topic. However, I scrolled through 21 pages of Google results, and my article was nowhere to be found. By then, the titles were things like "Practical Ways to Save the Rain Forrest." So, I felt I had scrolled far enough.
Should my article be showing up somewhere at least? Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you!
Ann
Sometimes it takes a few days for Google to index articles. They will rank it also. It may take a few more days but if it is already published on the internet, it may rank lower than you might think. Lots of factors goes into ranking and indexing pages.
You might try pasting a couple lines of the text from your article and see what that turns up.
hi ann how r u?
i like ur way to write an article keep it up take care bye
You're not indexed yet - if you copy the whole url http:/etc etc into google it returns "not found"
Its nothing you did wrong - "money" is a sometimes hard to get indexed on because google finds a lot of spam on the topic(weight loss is another problem area) Mark wrote an excellent hub on how google works and indexes here
http://hubpages.com/hub/How-I-got-my-hu … first-page
You did nothing wrong but you might have to be patient!
You need to be a little bit patient. You can also help your tags indexed fast in Google by having them saved under your account menu, you will see "Tag Fan Clubs" by your right side, enter there to save all your tags.
The best FOR SURE way to get it in google is to make a link to it. The Google-bot picks up on links and it will view and index the page. But you have to make sure that the link you put to it also gets viewed by the google bot and the best way to do that is make another link to that page.... and on and on. It is a viscous cycle. Haha.
But if you wait awhile google will eventually find your article and index it.
Good luck!
You're already indexed by google and yahoo. Type the operator 'site:' without quotes + the url of your page in the search box. Google has not reported any links to your hub but yahoo does and it's all coming from HB. Better build links from other sites so your page will rank higher. And like everyone says, be patient.
By the way, BYOL is a good money saver.
hi Ann, as of July 8, you are number 1 on google for your ENTIRE title in quotes, "Practical Ways to Save Money, Part 1" and without quotes (sometimes adding the quotes helps). However, if you just put "Practical Ways to Save Money" WITHOUT the "Part 1", I don't see you on any of the first few pages. It appears that there is too much competition on the phrase, and you will need TIME and LINKS if you want to rank for it.

New hubber here! (Well, sorta new. Started an account years ago and just checked back in.) Still trying to grasp the whole SEO thing and I'm wondering how long it takes to get a hub indexed and how to tell if you have been? Also, are articles on the niche sites more "findable" on google...

I did a little experiment with opting into the EC program for three months. To begin with, last year one of my better performing hubs become Editor's Choice. That hub was getting an average of 20o+ views per day, peak. The day after being selected as EC, the views dropped to zero. I watched it for a...

I'm relatively new to this site.I know most sites of its type do their best to be "Google friendly" which translates into "family friendly" (a phrase I hate, by the way). Over the years when tempted to use profanity either in a title or in the body of an article (and I can...

I write for a smaller niche, and it is seasonal. I have been penalized for this and am now forced to put all my information into one gigantic hub ... it looks awful, its ridiculously long and quite frankly many are going to land, go cross eyed and leave. In an attempt to salvage my writing which is...

I now have 11 hubs that are not indexed by google - nothing published since July 12 (the last one was published on the 9th and indexed yesterday). Normally I've seen then set up with 24 hours, occasionally in 48, but now it's 8 days and not done!!??

The Googlebot visits new hubs within 30-60 minutes while they are in 'Pending' mode and the NOINDEX tag is in place for 24 Hours. This means that the bot does not index the page, and does not return for days or weeks. New pages do not get indexed for days or weeks. This causes lost traffic and lost...
