Get Grounded or Get Pounded-The Choice is yours

   A sheep outside of the flock is the first to go. A lonely woman walking by herself in the badlands is the first to be raped and beaten. Perhaps murdered. Why? They're all the easy targets for those whom are predators and know an easy kill when they see it.
   
   Those of us whom are not grounded give off the distinctive aura of confusion, uncertainty and lack of direction. We walk in a way that showcases that "Lost and Found" position we see ourselves in. It is where we see ourselves. Stuck in the Lost and Found bin of humanity like misplaced or forgotten luggage at the bus terminal. We're constantly looking to cling to anything that shows we're part of something without the slightest regard to the development or inheritance of a foundation. Why spend millions building a house on a weak or almost non-existant foundation?
   
   When any of us considers a decision, we should know there will be others who will ridicule it and ostracize us and since we come to be celebrated and not just barely tolerated we straddle the fence constantly. Never making a real decision to establish a strong foundation under us which will obviously be seen by others. Are we really our brother's keeper? Or, do we need to first establish ourselves so we can be? A poor man cannot provide housing, food and clothing to another poor man. So, if in fact we are our brother's keeper, let us open the Bible, pull out our pen and paper and write down Joshua 24:15. Paste it everywhere and make it your business to establish your grounding before the enemy gives you a solid pounding. Don't be the lone unguided sheep.

      I agree, this is more of a hub topic then a forum topic. Here on the forums folks will dissolve into bickering about the taste of sheep
      On a hub its more likely to be found by someone who will value reading it and maybe find something that will improve their experience of life

      I probably will do a Hub on this. Quite honestly, I was just focused on starting a new topic. One that just might get someone to look in the mirror and consider for themselves as to where they are in life. Some already know and don't know how to fix it. Others know and have previously made the decision to be where they are. The Majority of One. Others? Like Elijah, sometimes we find ourselves in the position of having to stand alone when defending what we truly believe in. However, one must be careful that what we're putting our faith in will be there. Ba'als prophets (I Kings 18) found out too late that their illustrious leader was a fraud who let them out to dry when they needed him.
      
      As for the picture? Glad you like it, though it has serious meaning for me as it was taken at the funeral for one from our Special Forces unit. He had no family except for us which is why I accepted the flag.

   So your saying everyone should be just like everyone else and be a big herd of sheep!? You say black sheep and ones that are different are the weak and first to go.
   
   There's also loners that think for themselves and keep their distance from the herd of sheep that gets killed by the pack of wolfs.
   
   Who comes to the rescue to whole villages of helpless sheep? It's the ones who are different and think for themselves and know what to do.
   
   Being humble and good and so on is great. But saying you should think and be like everyone else? To me that's as weak as you can get.

      Guess what? You missed the point, which is why Joshua 24:15 was tacked on the end. When people are indecicive, they are generally also confused. Some do stay with the pack only because they are scared to venture out. The loners you speak of who operate on their own have already made the decision. However, not everyone who is by themselves is operating solo because of a decision they made to do so. Some, who are those I was focusing on, do so because they've procrastinated and grown complacent. They weren't paying any attention to their surroundings. So, they become a target. A predator can read confusion and ambivalence 1000 yards out.
      
      This is why one must study their objective. You can tell the difference between the warrior and the complacent, indecicive ones by the way they move and carry themselves. It is why Jesus was more concerned for the missing one out of 100 than the remaining 99. He knew the lost lamb was a target and had to be returned to the flock. Meek don't mean weak.
