I get the UGG boots ones, but simply delete them, not much else you can do. At least Hubpages does show them as SPAM and doesn't post them on Hubtivity / Feed.

Rather than giving them another backlink by posting the hyperlink here, why not take something out of it so that it doesn't benefit them?  I just delete them as well.

I fixed it so there are no more backlinks to the spammers. Thanx for the suggestions.

I am new here but I to have got the same spam you are talking about.

I really dont have time or patience to care about it.  pretty much just report and delete and its gone.

In anything you do on the internet you will get the spammers but thats a part of it and really you will never stop them.

When you get spam, flag it as spam, and then delete it.  That teaches the comment system to catch it more automatically.

sometimes they come with a button that says "Not Spam". how are they doing that?

      1. relache profile image72
relacheposted 14 years agoin reply to this

That button only shows up if the system has automatically flagged the posting as spam on its own.  (You didn't notice that part did you?)  That way, if it's really not spam, you can say so and the message will turn into something you can approve.

Well it looks like we all are having that problem with comments that are spam with backlinks. So I changed the setting in most of my hubs to only allow comments from registered Hubbers (the default is to allow anyone to comment).

http://hubpages.com/x/hub_32.gif A suggestion for a new feature is to make that a global setting so we don't need to edit each hub to change it.
