It really is hard to determine whether or not the Global Warming is a total falacy as the two sides become more and more attached to their view. It is peculiar that as this rages on there is such a wide divide and the words always and never and other words to describe extreme polar views seem to crop up. It is a shame that the media is in charge of reporting this and we have found just how subjective they can be to our undoing.
"I do not take a single newspaper, nor read one a month, and I feel myself infinitely the happier for it."
Thomas Jefferson
Well, heck.....a science teacher told me the earth has been through many cycles of warm up & this is just another. It's not TOTALLY caused by humans. Yes, what we are doing to the environment has contributed. But regardless of what we're doing, it's gonna happen anyway, not the sole result of humans.
To me it is simply Cause and Effect....when we over pollute the world, of course we are going to have adverse effects to that! I do not see global Warming as a hoax, for I have seen to many changes in the environment to believe it is a hoax
I think the controversy is in the way the science has been applied and whether or not consistency has been observed. The way to prove an experiment is to be able to reproduce the outcome using the exact same method and conditions. Whether it be the growth rings or deleted testimony there has been a poor showing on behalf of the scientists to win over the naysayers due to the sloppy methods they employed.
I feel personally that we are responsible for some change through the shear numbers we have multiplied. But to what extent that has caused the polar caps to melt and hurricanes and tornados to increase I do not know.
For the meantime I am open to hear logical arguments and studies that have consistant chronological history to them.
Global Warming is happening, however, what causes it is a debate. If everyone would stop arguing about the cause and do their little part, versus waiting for governments to do it for us, this world will be a better place. I don't like it when environmental groups exploit an extreme weather condition for their fund raising efforts.
All I know is when our winters are cold here, I don't hear them talking about global warming, but when we have a warmer than normal winter, their ad campaigns step up.
Thank you for at least admitting that it is really happening, instead of acting like the three yr old and thinking that if we close our eye we become invisible. whether or not we are causing all of it, is not the problem, the problem is that we are polluting, and destroying the planet we are supposed to be leaving for our childrems children.
The real question is what can be done about it? So it may not be totally human's fault and yet, why not take take certain steps (like less pollution)to see what the results are?
It is my opinion that it is really happening, the US is the only developed country that doesnt want to commit to Kyoto Protocol (reducing the emission and having a target reduction)
Bush said that he cant compromise the lifestyle of the American people, it means big business change of productions etc, car manufactures...
I am open as well to arguments on both sides. However, given how infinitesly few years we have recording patterns and climates we cannot possibly have any conclusion on the accuracy of global warming. Sure, we need to do our part and not be wasteful or poisoning our kids with smokestack toxins. However, these things need to be done (at this stage) through influence and not blanket policies. If we influence and even provide economic incentive the result will happen even in the private sector business. This "urgent" fear-mongering is not a good tactic and will only serve to their undoing. The facts will not be known for hundreds of years. Small influences and steps here and there will prove the peaceful and most productive path to take.
