What is the most positive thing that has happened to you because of a hub you wrote, or because of your overall HubPages experience?

      hmm.

i would say a hub i wrote about Laura Buxton. i was listening to WNYC radio and they were doing a story about coincidences, and interviewed her and her friend, who met when they were little girls after one of them released a balloon into the sky with their contact information on it. anyway, the neat thing that happened was Laura Buxton's boyfriend found my hub and read it and left a comment on it, which i thought was pretty cool.

I was asked to be on an Internet radio show.  The hub that inspired the invitation was My Hairstyle – DreadLocks.  There is a link to the recorded show titled - Yvette Stokes On Inner Light Radio

It's just nice to have the oppurtunity in general to have people look at my work from a neutral point of view, and for people to so often be really in depth with their responses, it's really helpful. There are a few people I've met on the forums as well who are a great laugh when you get into a conversation with them smile

The most positive thing for me is that I have made some new and unexpected friends through sharing my thoughts and experiences in hubs. smile Holly

I have made some new friends and had some interesting conversations.  I think about the next hub I want to write so it has filled me with inspiration.

I think reading all the hubs opens the mind to  different ways of thinking and it has shown me that we are a culturally diverse range of people.  Seeing this has helped me evaluate myself more thereby helping me with my assignment, all about me.  It difficult to reflect deeply into oneself, but seeing how others are and how they behave helps with evaluation of self.  Thank you to everyone on HP for that. x

For some of the readers that visited a series of hubs detailing a personal surgery experience of mine, it has provided them with valuable information that has helped them see there is hope for women suffering from excessive menstrual flow, and helped them make a more informed decision. It's also helped reduce some of the concern as to what to expect from the surgery and the recovery. Hub pages has also given me a positive outlet to express myself and meet wonderful people.

So for many of you it seems that the feedback and interaction is important. Thanks for the responses.smile

I had a young father comment that one of my hubs had helped him a lot in thinking about how he should raise his daughters-- that was priceless to me.

smile smile Good for you. That is priceless!

My personal hubs have gotten comments from folks I've not met that really prop me up. Reading a "stranger" who agrees with my POV is priceless to me. My self-doubt fades more and more. smile

Writing hubs for HubPages has helped me in many ways.  Writing about a variety of topics has allowed me to get better direction with what I want to do with my life.  I've met some great people and have been exposed to a myriad of writing styles and beliefs.  I have had comments that have left me in tears when I have struck a chord with someone else.  I've seen this the most with my grief-related hubs.  And on top of all of this, I've actually made some decent money at it.

It's nice that there have been a few positive things-- and they are greatly positive for those who have commented.  I hope there are many more-- and at least a few more comments.

Aside from obvious informational and/or entertainment value of countless hubs I read, I managed to help a few people and make a few friends. Also, I noticeably bettered my English. smile

I have read some great works here.  I have made good friends.  I have learned and grown in my writing style and ability.  A hub that I wrote here has become a weekly feature on another site.  I have one book finished, and am halfway through another.  I hope to have them published in the near future.

I do have to be honest, if it were not for this site, I would still be struggling to find the courage to publish my stories.  I know that there are several writing sites, but none more welcoming than this one.  I could spend hours talking about the countless encouraging words that other writers here have given.  Advice, help, feedback, criticism, and acceptance.

I enjoy reading the responses to this thread.

I have three I think are pretty cool that I'd like to share.

I have a hub about Henry Lee Lucas, an infamous convicted murderer.  One of his victim's brother posted a comment on my hub as well as someone else that wonders if Henry Lee Lucas killed her mother.

I have a hub about a heroic overland boat rescue in Lymmouth,England that I learned about when I visited England.  It's an incredible story.  Someone posted a comment on it that he and his partner are writing a feature film screenplay based on this event and hope to bring it to the attention of the world.  They already have a USA producer interested in it.

I have a hub about a couple of hotels in San Antonio, Texas that experience paranormal activity with great regularity.  One gentlemen gave hub-length details of his ghostly experience at one of the hotels I featured.  His experience had just happened to him the weekend before (Nov).

KCC-- your input, and your ability to find positives of life, in spite of the griefs you have suffered, has been a real inspiration to many.

I never stop looking for positives, because when you look for them you ALWAYS find them.  smile

Good for you-- let's try to keep spreading them around.

I was thinking about this today in another realm-- have you ever bought a new car and suddenly you notice that there are a lot of the same cars  everywhere you go? -- it's about "owning" something positive, then you recognize it all over the place.
