Hour of Power?

   Are you aware that we all have an 'Hour of Power'?
   
   We each have a time of the day when we are at our 'best'. When we can accomplish a lot, problem solve, be creative, have the energy do get jobs done, etc.
   
   Unfortunately for me, mine is at about 1am (which is it now incidentally, here in the UK).
   
   I discovered my hour of power several years ago when I used to live in France...
   
   We lived in a village in the middle of nowhere and having 4 children, 3 at the time who were teenagers, I used to have to drive them to a disco at the weekends, so they could 'socialise' with their friends!
   
   In France the discos began around 11pm and finished around 5am, so I used to drive them to the disco and get home around midnight. Then, because I can't bear going to bed for a few hours and then have to get up - I used to stay up all night on the computer (chatting in 'New Age Chat' on AOL with Americans mostly!) and go back to fetch them at 4am.
   
   I started to notice how energised I felt around one o'clock in the morning. I sometimes even felt the urge to do housework! (I never feel like doing chores usually!)
   
   Around the same time I read an article about the 'Hour of Power' and it all made perfect sense to me.
   
   It was okay when I lived in France, I had a lifestyle where I was able to go to bed in the early hours and get up around midday.
   
   Unfortunately, these days I have to conform to a more usual timetable, but I find it really difficult because I am not tired and usually end up having to make myself go to bed and then I can't get to sleep for ages. However, I have to get up early, so I am tired all day...
   
   So what about you? When is your hour of power?

      I never knew other people had these "hours of power" as well!  Mine, even more unfortunately is between 2 am and 3 am, but since I'm a high school student, it's extremely inconvenient; the only time I'm productive is during the summer!  Thanks for sharing this with me...I thought I was the only one!!

         You're certainly not the only one! It's tough isn't it, when you usually have to sleep through your hour power...
         
         Some people never discover their hour of power because they're asleep and conforming to society's 'norm'

   Hey CSW, I haven't found my hour of power yet, I think it skips around according to my mood. But I work at a big box store and we have POWER HOURS from 9am to 2pm CST.Ha Ha Not the same thing at all. During these hours we are not allowed to do tasks (only customer service) and I hate to admit it but it seems to be working other than the fact that now all the folks that always wandered around the store with their hands in their pockets now look like they are working. What a bummer for those of us who are actually attempting to assist multiple customers. Cool Hub!!!!!!!!!! Will read more of yours.

      I don't like the sound of your Power Hours...
      
      Thanks for the comment - I was going to reply to this yesterday, but got very busy, then my pc kept crashing, until I gave up for the night. It was as though the 'powers that be' were making me go to bed earlier!

   My hour of power seems to be about 10:30 pm when I should be going to bed. I end up trying to get it all in before sleeping and because I am wound up, I have to take melatonin to get to sleep. I am definitely a late night person - not an early morning person.

      Me too! I am most definitely NOT a morning person... I am very grumpy in the mornings.
      
      I can't face being in a 9-5 job, so I have to be my own boss
      
      When I used to have my little gift shop I opened at 10am, not 9am like all the other shops. Now I work from home... I love my 'flexi-hours'
