WHy do you think inspirational music is relaxing?

      There's always this sense of triumph or accomplishment in that sort of music. After doing something major in your life, hasn't it always felt good to lie back and relax afterward, knowing you've done well? I guess that's the way I feel when that kind of music is on.

         I agree, Music is a powerful thing when it come to giving people a sense of inspiration. Not everyone listen to the same music but the destiny of where the music might takes us can be the same.

      Being a songwriter has put you in a postion to express something in a new way that will open the hearts of those who listen to your message. Its ok to be inspired by a song and artists,but when it come to writing a song, always look inside your heart and there you will find the inspiration.

   That depends upon your definition of "inspirational music". For me, it can be anything from listening to Il Divo, to Enya, to Apocalyptica's rendition of Metallica, to Muse.  Each one is and can be inspiring to me in their own way.

      Thank you ;D, interesting. I never thought of heavy medal music being inspiring. Only classics, instrumental music. "Chariots of fire".

   You can get lost in it and almost be somewhere else for 3 minutes.  Like a meditation really, if you let it be.  You do have to let go yourself first though.

   Apocalyptica's performance of Metallica's songs is what moanalisa is referring to and she's right.
   They have recently recorded some original stuff, including a song with Corey Taylor as vocalist.
   Yes, that's the dude from Slipknot.

            Nothing Else Matters brought me through a horrible divorce.  Some of the other songs of their did too, but yes, this one calms you or at least me down.

   The music I find inspirational is all classical. I do not find it relaxing at all. It grips my heart, churns me around inside and demands attention. I have at times had to pull over in the car when a certain piece came on the radio, because it would not have been safe to continue driving.

   I could say it's endorphins in the brain but that would be too prosaic. There's something spiritually satisfying by uplifting music. It kind of reaffirms how good life can be because after all music is very important to us.
