Where is the most beautiful place on earth? Have you visited it, or do you have pictures of it, or do you plan to visit it?
Blondepoet, thanks for reminding me of a place I always mean't to visit. I can picture it in my mind right now, and it takes away those winter blues. I will play some music and imagine I am there.
New Zealand is beautiful!Especially the West Coast of NZ, lot's of native birds and bush, and heaps of beaches and rivers.
Thanks marcel, I know a lot of people from the Uk have emigrated to NZ. I think I will travel to the west coast by google earth. Thanks again.
The most beautiful place I have ever seen is the Mists of Avalon.
The town of Glastonbury in south west England used to be an island. The land all around is below sea level. It was less than 200 years ago that Dutch engineers reclaimed the land. It used to be marshland and you could only get to the town by ferry boat.
Outside the town is a Tor. It's a high narrow hill with a terrific view of the countryside but the phenomenon of the mists is something I can only attempt to describe. Words do not do it justice.
Because the land is below sea level, from time to time, notably in the Spring, a mist rises that covers the town. From the top of the Tor, looking down, the town and the surrounding countryside disappear. You are looking down on a cloud. On the night of the full moon, if you stand on the Tor, the moon reflects off the mist and turns everything silver. The ground and everything around you takes on a silvery light that is magical.
As I said, words will never do it justice.
Thanks Ian. Your description has inspired me to re-visit this magical area of England.
Sean:
I've travelled much of the world.
One of natures most awe inspiring natural creations exists right here in the good ole USA:
If you get a chance travel to Montana and Canada and witness the grandeur of "Glacier National Park" from both countries.
Qwark, tell me more. You describe an amazing place I have never heard of.Perhaps you could write a hub about this place.Sorry, didn't mean to put you under pressure.
Thanks Sean
Thanks Karina , I am going to visit the Bahamas by google earth but hope to one day visit for real.Life is so short. We must not waste time but think sublime. Thanks again karina for putting great pictures in my head.
hands down, i have to agree with Quark. it is gorgeous.
my preference would be the Buttes of northern California.
Twenty one days, I am starting to feel really foolish. You tell me of places I have never heard of. But I am checking everything out. Thank you so much for responding. I will visit all places , either by google earth or by train, plane, ship, shanks's pony etc.
if you have the chance SJ, go to silver lake. it is at the top of the Buttes. The water is literally 50 meters but looks 5 inches deep. miles of view, redwoods, forest, flatland.
just cool.

What is more fun? Writing dozens of articles for a niche or writing all sorts of articles from holidays to teeth whitening? And leave aside the fun, what about the money - which has more potential? What would you rather do as a writer on HP - niche writing or free lancing?

A June 15th PPP poll found that Louisiana residents think Bush did a better job handling Katrina than Obama is doing with the oil leak. 35% approve of the job BO is doing with the oil mess, and 50% approve of the job W did with the Katrina mess.I guess I was kinda surprised!
