This is a passage from the story, it illustrates exactly what I have been saying all along. Democrats will lose because they are losing the true independent voter.

A new poll out of Public Policy Polling on Monday underscored the depth of Coakley's challenge.

The poll showed Brown leading 51-46 overall, 64-32 among independents and winning 20 percent of the vote from those who backed Obama in 2008. On the flip side, the survey showed Coakley pulling just 4 percent of the vote from those who backed John McCain, in the 2008 presidential race.

I don't know if this is "the" precursor to the democrats being overturned in the 2010 election but it should be a wake up call. While the healthcare plan may have started out with good intentions, what is being offered now is a sham.  I do hope the independents decide this election in favor of the republican candidate and kill this very bad bill for now.  I hope the independent segment becomes even larger as a step in the right direction to weaken the stranglehold the two party system now has on our congress.

Maybe a workable plan can be made in the near future and not take another 15 years.

Even if Brown doesn't win the Dems should pay close attention to the numbers.

To tell you the truth I hope they don't.  I hope the arrogance of Pelosi and Reid continue as the consequences could be a split congress again.  I am always nervous when there is someone in the white house who has the same party in charge of the congress.  Compromise is left to the wayside and culpability is more than covered up by the rest of the slimebags.

The Boston Globe has refused to print any poll numbers - because Brown is ahead.

Nothing to see here, move along, move along . . .

I would just say that Ted Kennedy was a good friend to Ireland and when he had to be diplomatic about the 'peace process' in Ireland he was diplomatic, but when the Terrorists (Sinn Fein/IRA)breached the terms of the peace deal he was very powerful in telling them that their behaviour would not be tolerated.....great man as far as I am concerned....

Today’s special election will be very telling. The “Silent Majority” that has been ignored by the present representative government is beginning to awaken. And it’s waking up grumpy. Should Brown win, which I believe he will, the clamor will be as loud as the first shot fired April 19, 1775.

In that history has a tendency to repeat itself, I find it interesting the new political revolution will again start in Massachusetts. A Brown win will be a precursor for the November Midterms, the death knell of the progressive dream and the rebirth of our Constitutional Republic as it was intended.

I’m sure this posting will be attacked with venom and name calling, which are the typical tactics, but the truth that a great many people are not happy with the present government cannot be shouted down.

And then the other group of slimebags will be unleashed again to conduct their criminal activities.  The emphasis on party and not issues will be our undoing as a nation.

As expected. I do agree with your point about the parties, As far as I am concerned the both need to be politically vaporized.
