I accept a revue could be done on a site that uses info already in the public domain but if the site is part of a whole informational package that someone is putting together in a particular niche, I think its unfair to punish the site with a low score. It should be considered on the basis that is part of a series.
Hi Peter:
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. Are you referring to the duplicate penalty to Hubscore?
I have a similar question, if I understood the original question. A while ago, I got one of those chain mail emails with a series of very poignant photographs related to the war in Iraq. Rather than pass it along to people in my email contacts, I decided to create a hub, figuring that more people would read it as a hub than would read it as an email. It turned out, I was right. Since I published it, this has been one of my most popular hubs. Yet, because it was not original copy, my hubscore has always been very low.
This kind of bothered me, so over time I have written some supplementary material on the same theme, this time original material. Most recently, yesterday, I wrote captions under each photograph, describing the way each photo makes me feel. Despite these additions, the hub score remains at or near the bottom of all my hubs.
So my question is, once a hub has been determined to be non-original, is it forever labeled such, and doomed to a low hub score? Or can a hub be re-evaluated?
If you'd like a manual review of the number of duplicates of a given text, you can email me with the link. (For high numbers of duplicates, there should appear an option to request a review directly on the hub itself.)

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My views are over 945,000. Boo-hoo. Hubpages doesn't love me anymore!

I recently got my lowest score ever for a book review on Kate Chopin's novel, The Awakening.Anyone want to give me some feedback? Usually my scores start around 50 and go up as I construct the hub.The entire review is my original writing. I didn't copy any text.

Yet another copier out there. I just found my latest hub copied at myfirstbloghotel dot blogspot dot co dot uk. Word for word copy with 15 of my photos in the sculpture gardens (with innerspin as the source,) They have dated it 18th June, which was before I published my hub, indeed before I'd...

Sometimes when I have ideas for hubs, I "start a hub" and sometimes finish it later or just let it sit there for a while. Maybe I should just write down my hub ideas instead. Does it hurt my hub scores or overall hubber score to have those unfinished hubs (often with just titles) sitting...

I would like a better explanation of the Hub Score. I have a Hub that I uploaded on May 12th, it's ranked #2 on Google search results for its main keyword phrase, it's getting 175 visits per day sent by Google, but the Hub Score is only 78. Is that because someone at MTurk didn't like...
