traffic and hub scores

   I have a hub that I merely typed a title for and then deleted it... I never wrote a word on the hub...
   
   My statistics are showing that it is being read and the score for it is rising... It was never even published...
   
   What the Heck???

   The traffic on that Hub was from YOU viewing and reviewing the hub, during the time it was created.
   
   You do provide some traffic to your own hubs, by visiting them and reviewing/editing.
   
   It works toward your overall authorscore.

      I never viewed it...I never wrote it, it was alive as a title for about 3 seconds and then immediately deleted.....never wrote a word never even open up a text capsule...

   I had that happen once with a hub that I had writen but not published, it sat  ' in waiting ' for a few days before pulication, and lo and behold it had had about 8 people read it according to my stats.
   very strange.

   This is simply a guess on my part, but I would think the title and URL are enough for HubPages to begin "scoring it".

   Why not?  The title and URL will certainly affect rankings once it is published.  So, while it's unpublished it's still part of the HP system where their scoring takes place.

   I've created a Hub title and URL, added some tags and then saved the Hub unpublished.
   
   They go up and down just like live Hubs do.  Laugh all you want, but it's not a bad way to do keyword and title research.
   
   I've been playing around to see how much I could develop a Hub and how high I could get the score while it's still unpublished and I've got one now that's in the low 80s, and that's without traffic.
   
   Why should I launch a Hub in the 40s or 50s when I can launch in the upper 70s or low 80s?

      That sounds like a great ideal Relache and a smart way of working your hubs. Question...Do you have an ideal of how long can you leave a hub without proper amount of content unpublished? Without Hubpages deleting it or messaging you about it?

         To the best of my knowledge, infinitely.  Which means, I've never had them say anything about anything I have unpublished yet.
         
         But, the longer you leave something unpublished, the more it will fall down.  For instance, if I abandoned the Hub I'm grooming to be published and didn't do anything for a few months, it would drop down in rank by a few dozen points.  It wouldn't be down in the 40s, but it wouldn't be in the low 80s either.

      In the time it took unpublished to get up there it could have got up there published. Or higher, because it would be open for business.

      Wow! This is amazing. I never had an unpublished hub like that. But then again, my titles suck. But the idea is superb. Another thought out of the box. Thanks for sharing it.

   same thing happened to me... could it be hub team/staff looking at it. I noticed jay reitz name in keyword search on anylitics had read mine several times after I flagged a bollywood post with only 3 pics an no words. They might just be looking to see who you are. There algorithm is a bit jumpy I guess.
