      take her to a beautiful place and just not too common. but in africa to some extent u can do in the farm, beach and other places of  interest.

      I proposed in church...I am not the most religious man but it was important to her...It seemed to have worked we are still together

   Well what I think is that if your proposal is accepted then that way is best for you otherwise try next one.
   If you love some one never ever let tears fall from his/her eyes because of your fault...............:-)

   I had a friend who made a slideshow movie with pics from throughout their relationship. He took "their" song and inserted text in slides with romantic quotes. Then he takes her to a theater to see some cheesy chick flick. During the movie he "goes to the rest room." He had already set up to work with the theater staff to use a theater that had no showings left for the night. Once set up he went back to the movie. As they left he pretended they were sneaking into another movie. When she got in there they started the movie he made, but also both of their families were present. At the end of the movie he is shown on the screen starting to get down on his knee, so it was then he bowed down in the theater and grabbed her hand and the ring. He already knew the answer would be yes, so I am sure that made him confident in using such a dramatic approach.

         Sorry, deleted a sort of tasteless joke. I can say that my brother buried the ring at a beach he and his gal lived at and conspired that she 'accidentally' happened to dig it up one day as they were strolling along. That was nice.

    Well everyone's different and will appreciate different ways of being propsed to. I think if you can find a way of doing it that shows how much attention you pay to their personal likings and just be yourself you should be fine. I do remember being at Disneyland watching their big fireworks show and right after the final set of fireworks, this guy near us pulls out a ring and proposed to his girlfriend. There's a huge crowd with people almost shoulder to shoulder, so he didn't get down on one knee or anything, but catching that romantic moment for them was beautiful, it was so sweet!

    Hmmm...let's see...I'm married to my 7th wife, Pam; must have done some proposing along the way...oh, yeah:
    
    #1.  Parked near a snowbank with my girl.  Said, "I just got drafted and will be leaving for the Army 4 weeks from now; wanna get engaged before I go?"
    
    #2.  We'd been living together almost a year and were living/working in Eugene, Oregon.  Asked her one evening, "Wanna drive down to Reno and get married next weekend?"  Her reply, with a shrug, "Dunno what I'd do with the rest of my life anyway; why not?"
    
    #3.  Telephone conversation.  Don't remember words, just that I was sitting in freezing bathwater by the time we were done talking.
    
    #4.  We both just knew it was destined; don't remember the details.  Short marriage, but very educational.
    
    #5.  Been living together for over 2 years.  I'd talked her into dumping her cleaning business and depending entirely on the network markeeting business I was building.  She then looked me in the eye and said, "It's time to get married."  Sure worked for her; years of splitting business income down the middle after we split.
    
    #6.  Don't remember.
    
    #7.  (Pam, current).  Telephone conversation:  "I told you from the beginning that if the feds messed with your disability income, we'd just get hitched and tell 'em to take their money and go p*** up a rope.  Let's do it."
