It really depends on both part, if they really want to work it out, then it'll work, but if they don't want to, it'll not.

"Okay, dear I will explain TO you
LET'S suppose you have a friend, girlfriend, boyfriend or anyone CLOSE to you GO AWAY FOR A LONG TIME, can you stay in touch with each other via e-mail, phone, chats and etc."

That's what I think pooja is trying to say, in her/his third world English.

If you mean long distance relationships - as in a partnership, then yes they do go a long way. I'm currently in a relationship with my partner, with myself living in England while she lives in France and it's going swimmingly. 8 months in and she's now making plans to move to England smile

I have friends that have moved away and we stay in touch, usually by email or phone and of course holiday cards.  However, I have had long distance "relationships" that did not last...I believe that takes a lot of hard work and I just havn't found a person that is worth that "hard work" in that type of relationship.

Can't work, won't work. Just give up on the guy. You know you'll cheat on him eventually.

My boyfriend and I dated for four months. Then I moved for school. 652 miles away to be exact. We stayed together, and have now been together for almost 5 years.

    Yes it can work.

Wasn't easy, but it can work.
