Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting:
The Soul that rises with us, our life's Star,
          Hath had elsewhere its setting
       And cometh from afar
    Not in entire forgetfulness,
       And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory we come
From God, who is our home.

                -William Wordsworth

From God, who is our home.
If these are not enlightened words then what are? smile
Like I have said all poets, the genuine ones have had a satori, got enlightened or entered a state of samadhi.
This is poetry, the soul itself crying for and praising the supersoul or God. smile

    On Gratitude:
Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.  smile

Man is a Religious Animal. He is the only Religious Animal. He is the only animal that has the True Religion--several of them. He is the only animal that loves his neighbor as himself and cuts his throat if his theology isn't straight. He has made a graveyard of the globe in trying his honest best to smooth his brother's path to happiness and heaven....The higher animals have no religion. And we are told that they are going to be left out in the Hereafter. I wonder why? It seems questionable taste.
    - "The Lowest Animal"

A fig for those by law protected!
      Liberty's a glorious feast!
    Courts for cowards were erected,
Churches built to please the priest.
