   I don't think you've gotten clearence from the Hubs liberals to discuss keeping them out of other peoples buisness.

      check out the site I linked to...like i said, i am just starting to read their site.
      
      In my own life, having raised 4 children as a single parent, there were many instances where systems tried to abuse and usurp my parental authority...unless you have had kids or dealt extensively with their day to day life under your supervision, it's hard to appreciate the parental rights concepts...
      
      ones that have been in the news recently are issues like homeschooling, abortions, and other sexual relationship type situations with minors...

            you can do your own searches...just google homeschooling rights, or parental rights and authority for minors on the particular issues...i am not going to do the research for you, dear...
            I am just adding information to forums tonight, not getting deep into discussions

   We'll teach our children we don't need the government in our homes. The only reason for intervention should be for cases of abuse or extreme poverty.

   I was just wondering. I know my parents didn't like school uniforms (dress code). But other than that I can't think of a topic that they had an issue with. And that was more of my problem really. I was the one who would have had to wear them.

      in short, with my kids, it wasn't always so much what they tried to push on your kids or you as the parent but that they tried to do that things at all.
      
      all your kid's behavioral issues, scrutinizing you and your parenting with every aspect of who your kids are
      
      ...Public schools always drove me nuts, mandating this that or the other thing....acting like they knew better than I did what my kids needed...but then again, I have never been a big system person; too much manipulation attempted on their parts to conform you and your children...
      
      it really is a individual issue...some people are just fine with whatever others want to do with and to and for their kids...I was always much more alert, I thought, to the manipulation than other parents seemed to be...

   Its not just the parents that have lost their rights, most adults have. Just take a good look at the way children and teens act today. They don't even know the meaning of respect. When a child has the balls to tell a parent they will call the police for an act of discipline, I say " hand that child the phone and tell them to pack their suitcase." The children of today need a good old fashioned spanking. It did not kill my generation or the generations before me.

   Coming from someone who left childhood not too long ago, not all children or teens act a particular way. Nor are all public schools negatively impacting children and students. The only thing I disliked about public school was the standardized test.
   
   Nor was I ever spanked.
   
   And sure, go for it, say that I'm the exception, not the rule. But you don't know my friends
   
   It is quite easy to blame the parent, sure. In my opinion it is a combination of nature and nurture, and parents and schools should work together. There are things that schools are responsible for, and that parents are responsible for.

      yep, that is pretty much the way it is...we are all individuals and unique in how we see and deal with life...
      
      I find it interesting though that there can be such large groups of individuals that are having the same and similar problems...that really says something about the system and what needs to change...
