Since AdSense decided to TOS me, without discussion. I do not want Google ads on my Hubs, I hope others will follow.
Harvey, the Adsense ads on your Hubs are earning money for HubPages. If HubPages makes no money, they will close the site.
Marking your Hubs as non-commercial to deny them income would be a selfish thing to do.
A few weeks ago, you explained that your Adsense account had been closed because of irregular click activity committed by a friend of yours, there was an appeal, and you wanted people to consider joining you in a class action lawsuit.
To get others to follow, maybe you should start with making a full and complete account of what really happened.
Harvey, adsense and amazon are helping hubpages and hubbers to make money so turning off will not be good for site's profit. As you can't use adsense your only way to earn is from amazon, kontera. As adsense have dominant ads here, most of time you'll adsense ads here and you'll hardly get anyone for your support against adsense. So better you can disable them for your non-commercial hubs.
You can create commercial interest hubs here with amazon and ebay monetization. Or you can start blog outside with kontera/infolinks that will be beneficial for you.
re,
They will not explain. I want their ads off so they don't make money on me. I'm hoping others will do the same. You can see I haven't gotten a reply from anyone at Hub.
If your hubs are marked as non-commercial (such as linking to other sites) then you can turn the Adsense ads to 'none'.
Not sure how much support you'll get for your anti-Adsense campaign. I make money from Adsense so there's no point in me turning it off. Though I do have several hubs without ads on, because they'd never be big earners for me anyway.
Best of luck finding others.
darkside,
I don't expect those earning money to do this to follow. Think of how many people have been disabled on Hub and other sites.
Why should others take away their source of income because of one disgruntled person??
Are you willing to make up the difference in pay they will lose??
Just follow Darkside's advice and turn the commercial ad to off..
firead,
Please read what I wrote above.
Yep, what Glen said. I took a look at a handful of your hubs, and you will not have any problem turning ads off on the vast majority of them. One hub did have a bunch of outgoing links though, and this will likely present a problem - unless you are willing to work with HP on what links are to stay and what have to go for the hub to be considered non-commercial.
Harvey, I am sorry that you have been hurt by AdSense.
I can see removing the adds from all non-commercial hubs. I have done this, when there are not relevant adds to be shown on a particular hub. It only makes sense not to clutter up the screen with something that does not relate to the story at hand. However, I would not do it out of spite.
Hubpages has set up an excellent platform, and it is free to us, the writers. They put much of effort into the site, and I appreciate it. I would not remove the adds from all of my hubs, even if I did not have an account. If the adds were relevant, and might help a reader, I would leave them.
I have blogs without adds on them, and though the content is similar to what I have here, in some instances, the traffic is much much less. It worth having a few adds to be part of something that channels this much traffic. Plus, the community is great, even when people are fighting or griping.
If there was irregular click activity on your account Google has every right to shut it down. This lets Adwords users see that Google will take action against such activity.
If you know for sure that the problem stems from the activity of a friend why are you asking others to support an anti Adsense campaign when Google are clearly in the right.
I understand your anger and frustration at loosing an income through no fault of your own but Google doesn't seem to be the cause here. If you were to take any action shouldn't it be against the perpetrator of the irregular click activity?
I'm sitting here with a great cheque that just came in the mail from Adsense, I'm delirious. Won't be turning it off.

Well, that’s nice, very nice. I haven’t got a clue of what I did wrong. And after filling in the online appeal form they told me they had reviewed my account information, taken my feedback into account, but still had concluded that my AdSense account has posed a significant risk. And I have no idea...

I'd like to consider myself an asset to the hubpages community. Although I began relatively recently, I have over a dozen published hubs, and I even won the rising star award for one of them. I have applied to Google Adsense multiple times, and I have always been rejected. I would...

I'm having the hardest time trying to figure out Google Adsense. I applied for it, I was accepted, and it said ads will begin to appear in one of my hubs. In my account the earnings program is active and so is Google Adsense. The question is, do I have to do anything to add Google Adsense to my...

Hi, I have been posting a series of hubs on Dog Care and Adoption topics. All my hubs are original and I type each character in it. I also got a decent number of Hubs(21) to begin with all with good content. But google has twice turned down my request for adsense Account. It says-" Thank you...
