Soft Returns?

Paul, do you think you could please make it so we can use soft returns in the text boxes? Right now you cant do shift/return (that I know of, anyway) and it leaves a big gap. Which is normal for most situations, but sometimes we need to have the lines close, like they'd be in 1 paragraph.

For example, I was just trying to edit a hub to put album name directly under the song title, instead of having it all together.  I could make it work in the edit box, but once saved it reverts to the big spaces youd get with a hard return.

Would it be possible to be able to implement the shift/return thing please?

(And if its already possible some other way, please tell me how..)

    Thanks!

I don't think we're going to be able to do that in the near future.  For now you can try using the "preformatted" formatting option for the text, or else put the data into a list.  We know it isn't ideal.

How does that preformatted thing work? Does that mean it keeps formatting from Word?

Or do you type something in the box itself to use it?

I just tried it and everything was gray??

It wraps the text in HTML pre tags, which typically means line breaks are preserved and a fixed width font will be used.   In theory this would make it good for poetry, code, and other text that is already formatted.    Unfortunately, It may not be the easiest thing to get it to work the way you'd want it to work in our text capsule editor.  We'd like to improve on that at some point. example of pre tag in use

Too complicated for my little brain. I'll wait for the improvement, whenever that might be. wink

    Isabella -
When I need to use line breaks that aren't double spaced, I format the text in the smallest Header font (can't remember if its H3 or H4) It's more or less the same size as paragraph text, but the returns do what I think you want.
