Why do Christians fight each other?

   Let me make it clear that I'm not a Christian so I'm looking at this from the outside, hence my curiosity.
   In 2002 I was in Salt lake City for the winter Olympics. I saw over a 100 people outside the LDS Conference Hall protesting against the Mormons. They carried posters saying that Joseph Smith was a false prophet. Now I have nothing against that, but I have never seen Christians outside a Mosque protesting that Mohammed was a false prophet. I've never seen them outside a Buddhist or Hindu Temple either.
   Same thing in Scotland and Northern Ireland, they argue and fight about whether they should listen to the priest or the pastor while the immigrant Pakistani's are building a Mosque down the street.
   So I've often wondered, why do Christians argue amongst themselves but never protest about other faiths?
   
   
   Unless you're a Pagan like me. Then they get real Antsy.

   Why would you ask such a question? Do you think it is going to stop it from happening? Or do you not understand that the people who demonstrated against another Religion is simply trying to get their faces in the media, so as to draw attention to themselves.
   
   Either way, Religion is ALL FALSE and a complete hoax to begin with and the sooner people understand this single piece of reality, then humanity itself can move forward.
   
   This one particular topic "RELIGION" is meaningless, useless and was originally planned on a ill-conceived notion there would be chaos.
   
   Religion says people are EVIL in their own nature. This is a lie.
   
   Religion claims people are sinners, because of whatever reason. However, this is also a lie.
   
   Just a thought.

   Christianity is founded upon the fact of Jesus Christ being   the only way to God.
   
   There are enough convincing evidence to believe this... Except...
   
   Their Jesus Christ a man being absent in the flesh so therefore most have made a replacement for Him.
   
   This replacement is the book, the bible and the variation thereof, by which they paint many images of that One Christ.   
   
   So therefore each hold fast to their individual image, believing it to be the Christ.
   
   All Ignoring or trivialising that He Is still Present only as an invisible Spirit.
   
   And since the message of the Christ is both very powerful and convincing, none would accept that their christ is visible and therefore false.
   
   Thus they form themselves into groups from which they gain their individual group strength, and by their visibale evidence compare themselves to themselves according to the visible witten text, which has become their standard. 
   
   Now since none would be willing to release what they believe to be their "life line",
   They would do the only thing to preserve their identity.
   
   Thus  they  repress, reject, subdue, nullify any and all that threatens their Christ and their existence.
   
   But the true Christ is never found within any group thinking or Ideology.
   
   But each individual, in accordance with the conviction of that invisible, and intangible interior witness of Truth.
   
   This awareness of Truth (Faith) is the only evidence, which drives the individual to all good works, and is of such strong compulsion, that whether that one stands alone or with others,
   Whether he Stand against one or against the all.   
   
   Nevertheless He will Stand for This Truth is within Him.

   All the different Christian sects are competing for the same "fish" so they are a threat to each other.
   
   Fish in the oceans are becoming scarce due to overfishing. By analogy...

   Now, this is most certainly new. Usually people complain about us discriminating against other religions like a mass of angry guffawing.
   
   Different opinions, even in one ideology and belief, are inevitable. True conformity is only possible in the cemetery. And with the difference in these opinions, comes the attempt to convert someone from one belief to another for various reasons, and here we are now.

   Because lions are becoming an endangered species.  We Christians used to get the fighting out of our systems by being placed in the arena to face hungry lions.  Remove the lions and we have no other choice but to fight each other.

   Well, thank goodness.  I thought the occupation of Iraq, coming occupation of Iran, occupation of Afghanistan, dehousing of Palestinians, paying 1/4 of the attention to the Indonesians after the tsunami and sending far less aid than to the western catholic country of Haiti after the earthquake were indicative of some Christian/Muslim rift. But now I know it’s all in my head :-)
   
   Actually, I think it’s just less politically correct to outright battle other religions on our own soil than it is to fight amongst ourselves. Especially with the UN always publishing human rights and standard of living statistics. If you look at the reasons for all the wars they always have a motive that nobody seems to quite believe, like WMD, Taliban, etc. If you take a look at who is fighting and what their values are it looks like a whole different war.

   Cagsil asked why I would ask such a question.
   The reason is that I am a writer on a writers forum. It is by asking such questions and entering a dialogue with my peers that ideas and inspiration arise. I have only a vague interst in the ramblings of those with an agenda, be it religious or non religious. I have great interest and the utmost respect for the considered opinions of those employed, or seeking employment, in this craft.
   
   JeanMeriam; Your second paragraph is interesting and thoughtful. It does seem that Western Governments would rather send the military to violently oppose Islam in another country than have us upset the local Mosque with peaceful protest.
   Interesting thought.
